Re: Week 8 Thoughts and Observations

If Sanchez puts up a 2013 Foles campaign from now on - and I believe he will - it says a lot more about the Jets system than Kelly's offense. I think the Jets will start turning the corner only when they get rid of Rex Ryan. As great a DC as Ryan is, he has proven a terrible HC with an offensive sys...

Re: Is Philip Rivers still the MVP?

David, You really are serious aren't you? This isn't some kind of joke or sarcasm? It's hard to imagine that you would really even come close to believing what you are saying but I"m beginning to thinking you aren't joking. You see, there is a difference between fantasy posting and reality posting....

Re: Week 8 Thoughts and Observations

I think Chris Collinsworth said last night that Mike McCarthy and Sean Payton are the best playcallers in the NFL. I strongly disagree with the first part of that statement. MMs playcalling is what often prevents the Packers from being an absolute monster offense. I don't want to sound like I have 2...

Re: Percy Harvin Traded

The timing of this trade is so weird. If you needed more evidence that Idzik is completely throwing Ryan to the wolves, here it is. After 1-6 start, after a game in which the Jets made history to be the first team in NFL history to rush for 200+ yds, control the ball for 40+ mins, not commit a singl...

Re: Newbie Question

Frankly, I care little about the record. The record is such a crapshoot. I care about points, since they count for 2/3rds of the league total payout as they should. In other formats, people try to draft players with different bye weeks and other silly things to maximize the chance of the record. In ...

Re: Week 4 Thoughts and Observations

I don't think the presence of a strong running game helps the great QB post better numbers. It may help the mediocre QB or the game manager, but not the elite ones. You can see elite guys going off and posting record years without a running game. Most record breaking seasons (with exception of Manni...

Re: Changes needed in defensive/ST scoring?

I completely agree with this. The dispersion between a really bad offense and a really good one is very low. Let's just analyze points allowed. If a defense for example allows 18 points with no other stats (a very good defensive effort) it gets the same amount of points under this format as one that...

Re: The Postseason Contest

I like it just the way it is. The player restrictions add to the strategy of the game. I don't think a team in the middle of the pack should be able to swoop in and win it all because he chose 8 players on 1 team in the Super Bowl. I also don't like the idea of someone basically picking a whole tea...

Re: The Postseason Contest

If I'm not mistaken the motivation behind the x2, x3, and x4 points is to reward contestants who correctly predict players who will ultimately meet in the super bowl. The next two weeks you will see some very interesting changes in scores/standings as contestants who chose players in rounds one and...
