NFFC Classic After Week 11: Just One League Champion

Post by Greg Ambrosius » Tue Nov 24, 2009 8:00 am

Wow, this is as tight as I can ever remember for the league titles in the NFFC Classic. Through 11 weeks, only ONE LEAGUE CHAMPION has been crowned. Congrats to Chris Eibl of Chicago League 3, who has already clinched the h2h title as his Rex Grossman team has a three-game lead with two weeks to play. Rex Grossman is currently 10-1 and first overall in total points. Congrats Chris.

Chris is one of 10 NFFC Classic teams that is currently first in head-to-head record and first in total points. If the season ended today, 10 of the 21 first place league prizes would already be settled. Six other h2h leaders are second in total points, while four h2h leaders are currently third in total points. The only aberration is one team that is alone in first place in h2h and sixth in the league in total points. Good job everyone.

Fourteen of the 21 leagues have two or more teams tied for first place in h2h records. None is closer than Las Vegas League 1, which currently has SIX TEAMS tied for first at 7-4. Wow.

It's great that we have 13 regular season games in the NFFC to determine the league champs because it's too early to crown a champion now. Here's a look at each of the 21 leagues through Week 11:

Chicago 1: leader is 8-3, 2nd in total points
Chicago 2: two teams at 8-3, 2nd in total points
Chicago 3: 10-1 is league champ, 1st in total points
Chicago 4: two teams at 8-3, 3rd in total points

Las Vegas 1: six teams at 7-4; 1st in total points
Las Vegas 2: 8-3, that team is 6th in total points
Las Vegas 3: two teams at 8-3; 1st in total points
Las Vegas 4: three teams at 9-2; 1st in total points
Las Vegas 5: 8-3, 2nd in total points
Las Vegas 6: two teams at 8-3; 2nd in total points

New York 1: three teams at 8-3; 3rd in total points
New York 2: two teams at 9-2; 1st in total points
New York 3: two teams at 8-3; 1st in total points
New York 4: 8-3; 2nd in total points
New York 5: two teams at 9-2; 1st in total points
New York 6: two teams at 9-2; 1st in total points
New York 7: two teams at 8-3; 1st in total points

Phone 1: three teams at 8-3; 1st in total points
Phone 2: 8-3; 3rd in total points
Phone 3: 9-2; 3rd in total points
Phone 4: two teams at 8-3; 2nd in total points

There are so many teams still in the hunt for money spots in the NFFC Classic that every team should be fighting until the end. Remember, the TOP THREE TEAMS in each league this year make it to the Championship Round, so third place not only nets you $1,250 but it could lead to a $100,000 payday this year. It should be a VERY exciting finish to the NFFC season.

Good luck everyone and I'll analyze the NFFC Primetime next.

Okay, does anyone want to talk about any of those leagues above and how crazy and close it is in your league?

NFFC Classic After Week 11: Just One League Champion

The NFFC Primetime main event is equally interesting. Through Week 11, only ONE LEAGUE out of 23 has crowned a head-to-head champion. Darren Fecich of Chicago League 3 has already clinched that part of the league title as his Golden Tornado is currently 10-1 with a three game lead, while leading the NFFC Primetime overall standings in total points. Great job Darren.

All of the other NFFC Primetime league titles are still up for grabs. In fact, seven of the leagues have at least two teams tied for first place. It should be a very interesting final two weeks of the regular season.

Of the 23 leagues, 14 currently have the h2h leaders with the most total points (61%). Six leagues have the h2h champ second in total points, with two teams as close as 0.95 points out of the lead and 1.95 points out of first. Two teams are fourth in their league in total points and the one aberration is Phone/Online League 3 where the h2h leader is currently eighth in the league in total points. Four teams are one game behind in that league and all of those teams are first through fourth in total points, so things could change quickly there.

Anyway, here's a look at each individual NFFC Primetime League:

Chicago 1: 10-1, 1st in total points
Chicago 2: 10-1; 1st in total points
Chicago 3: 10-1; 1st in total points
Chicago 4: four teams at 8-3; 1st in total points

Las Vegas 1: 8-3; 1st in total points
Las Vegas 2: two teams at 7-4; 2nd in total points
Las Vegas 3: 8-3; 1st in total points
Las Vegas 4: 9-2; 2nd in total points
Las Vegas 5: two teams at 9-2; 1st in total points
Las Vegas 6: 9-2; 1st in total points

New York 1: 8-3; 4th in total points
New York 2: 8-3; 2nd in total points
New York 3: 9-2; 2nd in total points
New York 4: 8-3; 4th in total points
New York 5: two teams at 9-2; 1st in total points
New York 6: 8-3; 2nd in total points
New York 7: 9-2; 1st in total points
New York 8: 9-2; 2nd in total points

Phone 1: three teams at 8-3; 1st in total points
Phone 2: 10-1; 1st in total points
Phone 3: 8-3; 8th in total points
Phone 4: three teams at 8-3; 1st in total points
Phone 5: two teams at 8-3; 1st in total points

Thoughts?

Phone 3: 8-3; 8th in total points

Ugggh. And he moved into first by beating a team who had three of his best players on the bench last week, any of which would've beaten the now 8-3 team and knocked him down to a more fitting 5th place. :(
