the cost for the nffc will be much less in a place like atlantic city. strike a deal with a casino and i would say they cater it free of charge also with 2hr open bar. they need the biz as the casinos are down due to the economy. when they hear "high stakes fantasy football" they will want YOU more than you want them. i am sure anyone on the nffc registered list would get a great price on rooms. have the casinos fighting for your biz. take the best deal.

Here's my 2 cents on the events fee...If it were optional, I wouldn't take the option. No matter where I draft, $50 can get me something like a filet mignon dinner. I'd rather have filet mingon than chicken fingers and pizza for my $50. As long as we're getting a couplke of free drink tickets, and the bar stays open, you're free to whet your whistle with any libation.

*BWaz is right about AC and flying there. I love the idea of drafting there, but check online how much it costs to fly into AC airport. CRAZY. Most people will drive, take a train or fly to Newark or Philly and drive from there. Also, the Borgata is the nicest casino there, but it will bring you back to NYC money. So another casino, like Trump Plaza may be better.

if you called trump plaza right now and told them you had 200 people coming in from avon convention they still would have food and rooms for you let alone a "high stakes"football gathering.

Had a great time in between drafts having lunch at the "Burger Joint" with a few old friends and made some new ones.

Eat before the draft. Why is that so hard for so many to do? Snack and drink tickets do the trick.

you could have 2 or 3 ex NFL players do a autograph signing to promote the nffc and the casino would draw outsiders as well. they could care less about food and booze as long as they get a "spike" in the casino.

Downtown St. Louis would be perfect. Much more affordable on the lodging, parking, transportation side, tons of restaurants, bars and also casinos all right downtown or in close proximity like Soulard, plus the illustrious East Side for "eye candy". And I am betting you could cut some seriously good deals since demand for hotel/ballroom spaces in STL is no where near what it is in Chicago....And the Fanball HQ tie in should make not only overhead cheaper but could do significantly more promotion for less expense too!

Personally, I'm not sure I'd drive more than the 3 hours I do from RI to NYC. But as long as it's somewhere that my wife and daughter wouldn't mind spending a weekend, maybe we would.

I presume the "Primtime" name refers to the fact that we draft at night? If we're not hungup on the name, what about moving the draft times? As it is now, both are right AT lunch and dinner times. For us, we ended up eating a big breakfast ~11:00, then a quick lunch between drafts, then had no luck finding a place to eat dinner at 8:30/9:00 on a Saturday night. What about a morning drafting at 10:00 and and afternoon at at 3:00 or 4:00?

Just a thought.

Frank, I'm strongly opposed to this, because they had former stars in the first few seasons and it really wasn't all that. These guys want MAJOR money for their 5 minute speech, and as soon as it's over, it's not like they're interested in fantasy football and hang around to watch some of the drafts. MAYBE if there were one star in each city that was randomly selected to draft with someone, or if the star actually played in a league? Other than that, they can keep their $5K speech...I'd rather talk to the Blackhand.

marc , i could care less bout most of them also. but it would be a draw for the casino. another "chip" for the nffc to bargin with. you might get say 500 people to say see brandon jacobs. let the casino pay his fee. they will get it back 10x over.

If the casino pays for it, I'm all for it! But all I need is a roulette table and maybe a texas holdem area on top of the NFFC drafts and I'll be in HEAVEN.
