Any Interest In Higher Level Auction & Draft Champions Leagues

Post by Greg Ambrosius » Tue Jan 10, 2006 11:51 am

We've held the Auction Leagues and the Draft Champions Leagues at $650 levels the first two years of the NFFC only because I was concerned that there wouldn't be enough interest in higher-priced leagues. I started that way in the National Fantasy Baseball Championship too, but by the second year the $1,250 leagues had overtaken the $650 leagues in popularity.

Right now I just have the $650 options available for auctions and Draft Champions Leagues, but if there's enough interest to do $1,000 leagues or $1,250 leagues at the same time on Friday in each city I'll offer them. Let me know what you think -- especially on the higher Draft Champions Leagues -- and we'll make it happen. If there's not enough interest, then we'll stick with what we have.

The consumer knows best, so that's why I'm asking you. Let me know what you think for 2006.

Or, as we tried this past year, we could do $1,250 Auction Leagues on Sunday during the NFFC Ultimate Draft League or even after that. Just a thought.

Greg,

I'm in for a higher level of Auction or Draft Champions and any draft offered Sunday afternoon.

Thanks,
Mark

Greg,I would love to do two auction's some how. Also would like a $1,000 or $1,250 along with the $650.I think even going $700 for the cheap auction.another $600 or $700 dollars to go around in prizes couldn't hurt.

Lumpy's Losers will particiapate in the highest dollar amount draft available at each session.
Friday Afternoon, Friday Night, Saturday AM, Sunday AM, and Sunday PM if added.

However, other than the Ultimate, we would prefer drafts where all the teams are live in Vegas, even if that means we play at a lower level.

I had a feeling that the interest we had this year in Las Vegas especially would lead to at least one full league of a higher payout if we went that way. I assume that if we move up in value, it doesn't matter if we settle at $1,000 or $1,250 then, right? Let's offer a $1,250 Auction League and Draft Champions League on Friday, Sept. 1st and see how the interest is. I'll adjust any signups to this point if you'd like.

If we don't fill full leagues, we can always get you in the $650 leagues.

Greg,

Sign me up for both the $1250 Auction and the $1250 Draft Champions Leagues on Friday.

And if I mention adding a Sunday afternoon draft, again, will you think it has been three different people suggesting it or just me for the third time?

Thanks,
Mark

Follow Me I heard you the first time on the Sunday afternoon gig, but I need to remind you and Lumpy about one thing: I WANT TO DRINK ON SUNDAY AFTERNOON!!! :D

Six days of events for me in Las Vegas (counting the Fantasy Sports Trade Conference) tires an old man out. But I guess if the demand is there, I'll always consider a Sunday afternoon higher stakes event and have my Corona's while you guys do that. Keep the chatter going and let me know when you're close to a full league on Sunday afternoon/evening. Then I'll promote it like crazy!

I don't know if you only want affirmative responses here but you asked for our thoughts.

I am happy at $650. The only negative in offering the higher dollar leagues is that they will siphon off some of the top notch competitors such as Lumpy's Losers.

Well, maybe the dilution in the competitive field at $650 isn't so bad after all. Maybe Maguire will go as well. ;)
