C. Buckhalter with a torn patella tendon... OUCH! He is no doubt out for the year. This is really a BIG problem as the Eagles will have a rough time running the rock. Last year they had a 3 headed monster in Westbrook/Buckhalter/Staley, and I personally don't think Westbrook is built to carry the load!

Maybe Willis McGahee will want to play in Philly (of course they would have to bench Westbrook! )

Wow, what a blow for the Eagles. Forget about fantasy football for a second. The Eagles were the NFC favorites along with Carolina and this is a BIG blow to their Super Bowl chances. Now everything has to fall right for them -- TO staying positive, Westbrook staying upright and McNabb staying healthy -- to move on.

What a wild, wild off-season it's been for the NFL and Draft Day just gets tougher. Adjust the Cheat Sheets one more time folks.

I'm sure we are far from done with "season ending injuries". There are 3 more preseason games left for each team (minus last night) and Buckhalter proved you don't even have to get touched for it to happen. Everybody should keep their fingers crossed!

On a different note, I am headed to Pittsburgh in about 2 hours to watch the Texans-Steelers game. No Domanick Davis :( and Jerome Bettis is geting the start  but it should be fun to see Carr, A.Johnson, and how the Steelers run game looks minus Kendall Simmons.

When we first decided to do the NFFC, the first thought was picking a date for the draft. The Saturday after the Thursday game was an option, but obviously the WCOFF is on that date and I've never liked drafting after game results are finished. Seems like getting one answer on a 15-question test.

We actually thought of doing this on Aug. 28th, but with one pre-season game left for every NFL team we felt it was unfair to everyone who was paying big bucks for this contest and then could conceivably suffer a season-ending injury to one of their stars during that final pre-season game.

By Sept. 4th, every NFL pre-season game will be finished and the regular season then starts five days later with the Colts-Patriots Thursday game. Now I realize that guys could still get hurt in practice, but this is really the fairest date to host a high-stakes event. Labor Day weekend makes it less than ideal for everyone, but just on the injury front and the fact that you don't know the results of a game, this was in our view the best date to hold it.

If somebody likes a different date for 2005, we're all ears.

I think it is the best date also Greg. However, those doing the auction will need to be weary of the 6 preseason games going on Friday night while we are drafting.

Again, I do think it was the best weekend to hold the event, and I wouldn't change anything for next year.

Sorry I missed last night's chat as I was in the middle of a mock draft that sucked because I was the only one left drafting by the ninth round. Draft ended at 4:30 this morning. Andy Reid sure pulled Westbrook out as quick as he found out Buckhalter's status. He lost rookie Bruce Perry for the season last week and Buckhalter this week. We still may not be looking at Philly's starter yet the way they are dropping like flies. As for the draft date being Labor Day weekend, sure, there are a lot of people who plan vacation and their local drafts, but the true fantasy player plans the vacation in Vegas and kills two birds with one stone. I love the date.

All we need is for some more RBBC to get injured or some coaches to make some final decisions on their team's rb situation that way my partner and I can set our final cheat sheets. And by the way we loved Westbrook.....unfortunatley so will everyone else now...Buckhalter with a second leg injury in two years..it's hard for those rb's to bounce back especially when the other leg, knee been overcompensating for the injury....... with the horse shots these NFL teams give out like lollipops...you wonder how they don't blow out both knees and tendons more often
