Burress Explains Minicamp Absence

From RotoTimes: Plaxico Burress said the reason he was away from minicamp last week was so he could be with his family for Mothers' Day, not because the Steelers haven't opened talks about a contract extension, according to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. He told Sporting News Radio's James Brown his mother died two years ago and he wanted to be with his brothers. "If it was based on my contract, then I never would have showed my face around there during the offseason," he said.
