Favre Retires !!!!!!!!!!!

Post by Diesel » Tue Mar 04, 2008 1:22 pm

Guys, you're talking like Joe Namath retired or something...The NFL still has the likes of David Carr, Alex Smith, Billy Volek and Byron Leftwich...

LOL...Kidding...

FAVRE will be missed by most everyone...I know I'd still appreciate him if there was no fantasy football, but he was a notch higher by my standards because of his fantasy value.

STARTER worthy for 16 years in a row...irreplaceable.

Not only a void in our hearts and Sundays...but a fantasy football void as well. His replacement WILL BE REPLACED before the first week of 2009 due to ineffectiveness or durability issues.

Just look at this...

Just too bad.

How management can be so stupid to not beg him back after a year charged with energy and great times for those folks in Green Bay, as well as fans around the world.

He damn near set career best marks with his low INT and SACK numbers.

First time since the Superbowl years he has a decent RB threat after getting knocked on his ass for years due to no real running threat.

Unreal how they could not beg him back.

They will regret it...mass exodus after 2008.

A sad, sad day indeed for football fans everywhere.

CONSIDERABLE downgrades for Driver, Jennings, J.Jones, and Lee.

I still think Grant hasn't lost much value, and should still be productive. I have to say I hear ya guys, Will miss seeing favre also. I still haven't got over Marino Leaving.... :D Marino will always be my favorite.

On a serious note. I used to think Aaron Rodgers and Alex Smith were garbage. Still think Alex Smith Is a Ryan Leaf Clone/ Bum.

But Aaron Rodgers really looked decent this year and Looks like He might not be that bad. He also has some wheels.

Mark me down as He is no Favre but he isn't a lost cause like Smith and he had to learn something from Favre.

P.S- Im kind of sick of the "Will Favre be back again thing" Every year. Getting Old.

Gotta hand it to Favre, all the records, consecutive starts is what is most impressive, 3 time MVP, Super Bowl winner. I admire what he has accomplished even when I was hating on him and the packers for beating the 49ers on the way to the Super Bowl. He had a great career!! Top 5 of all time!
I do agree with thenumerous posts that GBs WRs and RBs have all dropped a round in value due to him leaving, Rogers will do fine with the amount of experience and talent the team has at the skill positions, but it will be really hard to replace a legend like Favre. Look at all the QBs Denver has gone through since Elway retired.

I'll never forget the game after his father passed. I needed him to tank to win my fantasy game that week. I could not have been happier with his amazing performance that night even though it cost me a now-meaningless fantasy win.
2008- Didn't finish last overall in the Classic.
2009- Didn't finish last overall in the Classic or Primetime.

Just remove football from the equation...

He LIVED a FULL LIFE off the field, yet still suited up each time for the game he loved!

Dealt with alcohol & pain killer attraction.

A close family member died on his land.

His father passed away.

His wife had to fight breast cancer...

ALL DURING HIS NFL CAREER!

Wow...what a load.

The game itself must have been so much easier.

If he is done...I sure hope he'd jump in the booth for commentary.

Montana, Marino, Elway...great QB's...but they bore me to death with their "insight".

Favre in the booth!

He earned his name being spelt correctly!
