Was it a fumble?

How about Madden discussing the fact that he thought the Cards could exploit the middle of the field and then BAM, Fitz for the big one right down the center of the field. Nice call JM!

No doubt about it.
That play must be reviewed.
Makes you kinda wonder doesn't it???

I'm dumbfounded by it! If it was ruled his arm was coming forward, Cards would have been 15 yards closer as well. To be honest it was close, so that play should have been reviewed. Not sure why it wasn't?

Great game. One more thing. Why did the Cards defer? Wouldn't you want your Off. on the field to start the game? Just didn't understand there thinking.

I king of like the Cards deferring.

Their D was given no respect and I feel as though it had the potential to give them a chance to set the tone. Had they gotten a 3 and out followed by a scoring drive, it would have given them some serious momentum.

If they had gone into 1/2 time with the lead and the ball it could have really put the pressure on the Steelers.

We knew what the offense could do, why not empower the defense to gather some momentum?

I thought it was a good move.

I'm dumbfounded by it! Kurt Warner-QB- Cardinals Feb. 2 - 8:40 am et

NFL vice president of officiating Mike Pereira confirmed that Kurt Warner fumbled on the Cardinals' last play of the Super Bowl.

Announcer Al Michaels claimed there was a quick booth review at the end and Pereira confirmed that as well. Neither Warner nor head coach Ken Whisenhunt believed there was a review and both were quite miffed about it after the game. The odds of a Hail Mary touchdown were incredibility slim, but Pereira's confirmation about the review and the fumble at least offer some closure to an epic game.

John John,

I was wondering the same thing! The other thing that surprised me was that early on the Cardinals tried to use their run to set up their passing game as opposed passing to set up the run. They couldn't run the ball at all until their passing game was going strong. It just seemed kind of backwards to me and they completely wasted their first couple of possessions.

I THINK DEFERRING IS ALWAYS THE BEST MOVE BAR NONE.

MY THOUGHTS IF YOU ARE BEHIND GOING INTO THE HALF YOU GET THE BALL TO START THE THIRD QUARTER.

ALSO IF YOU ARE WINNING YOU GET THE BALL AS WELL.

JUST A WIN-WIN ALL AROUND BY DEFERING.

JUST A WIN-WIN ALL AROUND BY DEFERING. Understood. But Cards are a different team with the lead.

If Pitt. won the toss, Defering would make sence.
