Bush the liar
I can't help but feeling our troops were put in harms way by a liar President. It seems the reason to go to war with Iraq was a total lie. There are no weapons of mass destruction. Our soldiers (and other innocent people) are dying in a war that didn't have to be fought. Thanks a lot Bush. At least your friends got a bankroll from oil and you got the Patriot Act in place. Didn't cost you anything. How about you send one of your daughters over to fight in Iraq? Thought so.

This war did have to be fought... it was a matter of when. The 'when' should have been before 9-11. We learn from things like that.
Thankfully.

War is to be used as a last resort.

Dyv
I guess the majority of the international community didn't see it that way. Even with Bush misleading them.

Dyv
I guess the majority of the international community didn't see it that way. Even with Bush misleading them.
All politicians lie, choosing to attack Bush is a pointless exercise. He's saying things and doing things for a purpose - that's his job. He feels it will make the US a better country. That's his job. I'm not saying you have to agree with what he does or how he does it or that he's correct, but I don't crucify the man anymore than I would crucify Clinton or Regan or any President in the last 50 years.
As for the international community and their approval... who cares? We should withdraw all of our international support, funding and military protection and you'd see a vastly different reaction from other countries. One of the reasons France and others were able to stand on the outside is because they didn't have to get involved You can't possibly get me to believe that France and Germany and others WANTED Saddam to maintain power in Iraq. That's irrational and stupid. The fact is, they didn't want to become terrorist targets and they knew the US would take care of everything, so no money and no lives at stake and still they get the result they desired.
Simple enough, really - it's politics. If I had to deprive the #1 team in my league of getting a key player from FA, but I knew you would do it then I don't need to waste the FA bucks.

Let me ask you one question
Is your money that good
Will it buy you forgiveness
Do you think that it could
I think you will find
When your death takes its toll
All the money you made
Will never buy back your soul
