DK,
I don't know if there's a Hampton Inn anywhere near the draft, but in my own experiences, I haven't seen a bad Hampton Inn yet. I hope this helps...I draft in NY, so I don't know what's in Orlando, other than the Disney Hotels.

I'm staying at the Hyatt Regency Grand Cypress which is a real nice hotel & about 15 minutes away....Not sure what you were looking at pricewise for "nice", but this hotel is a good one (& I'm part of Hyatts program which helps)....Caribe Royale is less expensive but nice too. Intl.-Drive gets crowded so these are a little less congested (& newer)....

I live in Orlando and am in the Disney area often. Let me know what your looking for. Do you just want a hotel room or a 1-2 bedroom?

Hammerheads, we're staying at the Hilton Grand Vacations Club on International Drive. Any idea of its proximity to the Holiday Inn?

I always stay at the Comfort Suites in Old Town. Runs about $89 a night and is across the interstate from Disney World.

Grand Vacation Club is close, just the next exit up I-4. I'm going to check on a couple of hotels today. I'll post something later.

There are a dozen hotels within a block or two of the Holiday Inn. BUT, That section of International Drive was developed when Wet-N-Wild was built. So they are all 30+ years old. I am sure the better names have been updated regularly but there is a Howard Johnson's there that looks really bad. If you go a little further away(within 1 mile) there are newer hotels. Crowne Point, Enclave, Hampton Inn and Country Inn are all within a 1/2 mile aren't nearly as old. The Holiday Inn is in the middle of Tourist Central for Orlando. It's typical for International Drive traffic to be at a standstill Friday and Saturday evenings so plan accordingly. There are some pretty good eating estabishments close by that aren't the typical tourist traps. If you go south on I-Drive from the Holiday Inn to Sand Lake Rd and take a right, then go past Turkey Lk Rd you'll come to the Dr. Phillips area and you'll have a good selection on both sides of the road. That's less then 2 miles away. I drafted in Chicago 2 years ago and Tampa last year. There is alot more to do within walking distance of this draft but it's probably going to be crowded on Labor Day weekend. If anyone needs more info let me know.

I forgot to say something else. It is Labor Day weekend so don't wait until the last minute to book a room.
