NFBBC Plans For 2010-11

Post by Tom Kessenich » Tue Oct 05, 2010 5:35 am

Baseball is in the books, so it's time to turn our attention to the next roundball sport: BASKETBALL. That's right, our fifth season of the National Fantasy Basketball Championship is set to launch in two weeks and we're ready to take signups NOW!!

This year we will have three price levels and possibly a fourth one. We will again have our NFBBC Main Event with league prizes and overall prizes. We are projecting only five leagues and 60 teams this year, so don't delay if you want to join the fun. This year the entry fee for the Main Event is $750 and we are paying five overall spots for the first time. Here are the payouts:

League Prizes:
1st place = $3,200
2nd place = $1,500
3rd place = $750

Overall Prizes:
1st = $5,000
2nd = $2,000
3rd = $1,000
4th = $500
5th = $300

All of these drafts will be held online using the www.draftpractice.com software. We are testing that software now and hopefully it will be live for all of you to use by tomorrow. This draft software will include a large Draft Board like we had for football with colored stickers per position, which is very nice. We are working on position eligibilities now and the site will have exact position eligibilities that we'll use in the NFBBC. All rosters will also be loaded immediately from the draft site into the NFBBC commissioner product.

For the first time this year we'll also offer a $350 Online Championship with league prizes and overall prizes. This will also include league prizes and overall prizes. We are shooting for just four leagues, 48 teams. Payouts will be:

League Prizes:
1st place = $1,400
2nd place = $700

Overall Prizes:
1st = $2,400
2nd = $1,200
3rd = $700
4th = $400
5th = $300

We will also have draft times for a $125 Satellite League, paying Top 3 spots ($725, $350, $125). There also appears to be interest in an NFBBC Super League at $2,500. If we could fill that, we'll pay out 90 percent. Just contact us via email or phone and we'll start a tentative list for this league. Payouts could be $16,000, $8,000, $3,000. Who wants in? The Super draft could be held either Saturday night, Oct. 23 or Monday night, Oct. 25. Your call.

We are working on the NFBBC web site now and the goal is to have that live before the weekend. Registration will also be live by the weekend. But you can tentatively sign up now for any of the events via email by contacting Tom at [email protected] or Greg [email protected]. Here are the proposed draft dates:

NFBBC Main Event:

Friday, Oct. 22, 9 pm ET
Saturday, Oct. 23, 1 pm ET
Saturday, Oct. 23, 7 pm ET
Monday, Oct. 25, 7 pm ET

NFBBC Online Championship:
Tuesday, Oct. 19, 7 pm ET
Wednesday, Oct. 20, 9 pm ET
Thursday, Oct. 21, 7 pm ET

Monday, Oct. 25

NFBBC $125 Satellite League:
Tuesday, Oct. 19, 9 pm ET
Thursday, Oct. 21, 7 pm ET
Saturday, Oct. 23, 4 pm ET

Stay tuned for more details, but contact us ASAP if you want to reserve a spot in any of the leagues. We won't hit any credit cards until leagues are full. Thanks all and best of luck.

2007 - Chris Fargis
2008 - Jeff Dobies
2009 - Sammy Zahler
