just pretend the main event is an auction and GET THE PLAYERS YOU WANT!! the best way to do that is to have a middle draft slot. catch the 'value' as it falls.

I would have been very into the live auction.
My problem is the time of the event.
Unfortunately, I have to work for a living.

If you guys do organize an on-line auction, I would participate. Looks like I am getting shut out of the $650 auction league in vegas so looking for a replacement.

[/QUOTE]The problem is, wherever I draft, I ALWAYS end up with someone right next to me that shares the same strategy and kills me on one end of my draft. The "Snake" drafts kill me. In the Auction, I've got a BIG list of players I want. I buy them, and go to battle. No if's, ands', or buts...

Soupdog, that's why I sign up in APRIL! And even then, I signed up for both Auctions, and 1 didn't fill in NY. Thank "fantasy" God that one filled, or I'd be one disgruntled fantasy player. If I could ONLY do Auctions, I would. Problem is that there just aren't enough. People fear something new, so it may take awhile for it to really take flight.

I'm not sure if this league will go, but it's good to see some are interested. I'm SO busy with work, I have no time to get it together, other than just checking the boards out occasionally.

Id love to do a 12 team Auction. But it doesn't look like this is going to get going. I'll keep a eye on it thou.

This is why there needs to be an overall "Auction Main Event Prize" to lure people in...If you build it, they will come.
