Has there ever been any thought to using the "power ranking" feature to determine the teams that go to the playoffs? Given the weighting of points, season record and cumulative record against all opponents, it seems like a broader based determination of a team's success in any given year. I have not seen it used, but have always wondered why it wasn't... (at least as a tie breaker).
As a disclaimer, I snuck one team in this year on great record/crappy points and one team hit third with great points/crappy record. (i.e., the current system worked our fair to me).
