Draft Champions Leagues In 2014: 35 Rounds?
Our 12-Team NFFC Draft Champions National Championship was a huge hit this year as we set a record with 1,200 teams and 100 leagues. We gave away a $15,000 grand prize and had daily drafts from May through August. It was a great season for the DC.
We certainly like the format and hope to get drafts started even earlier this year with an even bigger grand prize. We're bullish on the DCs. But before finalizing this format, I want to ask for your input on any rules changes here. We're staying with 12 teams, so let's not go there. What about the roster size, is there any need for a change there? Last year we had 35 players per team for a total of 420 players. Was that too much? Not enough? What's your thoughts there.
Some asked for 32 rounds. Some like 35 rounds. Give us your feedback on this and we'll finalize for 2014. And if you have any other suggestions for this format, let us know here. We appreciate all input and we plan on getting these drafts going earlier than ever before. Be ready. Draft Day isn't far away.
Thanks for your feedback here.

30 Rounds is already too many.
Please, leave it as it is.

Not the live DCs, Mark, which are 26 rounds. I'm talking about the Slow Drafts, which are now 35-rounds.moyer1313 wrote:30 Rounds is already too many.

My mistake. Sorry.
Unfortuantely, we did 30 Rounds in the Live Gridiron DC Draft last year and I'm afraid it will eventually bleed over into the other Live DC Drafts, too.
26 for the Live DCs is perfect.
Thank you,
Mark

Re: Draft Champions Leagues In 2014: 35 Rounds?
I would like to see it stay at 35 rounds. Once the draft is over there is no going back and no waiver wire obviously, so why not stockpile more players on each roster to help with injuries. Especially with how early on in the year these drafts start. The more players drafted the better IMO
Winning isn't everything, but the will to win is.
Re: Draft Champions Leagues In 2014: 35 Rounds?
I thought that 35 rounds felt just right.
Most of the time I found myself grabbing guys in rounds 33-35 that I wanted to have but rarely had to choose between more than 2 or 3 guys for my last pick. Although it happened it was rare that I was left looking up new guys in rounds 34/35 since all my targets were gone.

And 30 for the Gridiron.

If I recall correctly, we did 30 in the Gridiron because it was mistakenly published in the rules that way.kjduke wrote:Stay at 35.The Franchise wrote:I would like to see it stay at 35 rounds. It was suppose to be 26, like it was in 2012, and I would much prefer that it return to 26.

Re: Draft Champions Leagues In 2014: 35 Rounds?
It seems like the drafts really lag those last 5 rounds. People lose interest and I hate starting a new one til the one I'm involved in is over. At most, I have 2 slow drafts going at a time.
I prefer somewhere between 30-32 rounds. There are definitely draftable player in rounds 33-35, it's just at the expense of a longer draft. The fast drafts seem to move along fairly well even at 35 rounds. I'll play either way, but just a bit shorter might be preferred.
