Re: NFFC Names 7 Owners To Hall Of Fame
The post below comes from Scott Newman:
I'm sorry. I'm just not a fantasy sports message board guy.
I often ponder this silly question. If I were fired for on-line malfeasance at my job, I often wonder, what would be a more embarrassing reason: surfing porn or being caught in a fantasy football chat room.
So, in order to communicate my feelings on the induction of Mssrs. Edelman, Wasosky, and Yates into the NFFC Hall of Fame, I've drafted Tom and Greg in the first two rounds to anchor my fantasy football message posting squad--and relay my sincere, salient, and yes, serious, thoughts on this trio's induction.
First of all, allow me to digress for a brief moment.
The Practical Guy is embarrassed, lucky, and somehow blessed, that playing against everyone in the NFFC, he, with the assistance of his once 10-year old daughter, has even won a few league titles, and finished second overall to Mr. Yates in that historic NFFC finish a few years ago. The P Guy doesn't take this as seriously, study as much as he should, and in short, play this game like it should be played--like the law firm of Edelman, Wasosky, and Yates do.
However what impresses the Practical Guy so much more than the league and overall titles this trio has won (I'll never forget how happy I was, and even shed a few tears with my daughter when Mr. Yates got his trophy in New York for besting us), is the kind of people, Mssrs Edelman, Yates, and Wasosky are--away from the high stakes fantasy football field.
They are humble, family-oriented, and just freaking good people. I'm blessed and so should others to draft alongside these guys, no matter how many times we all lose.
It's ironic that before I read that Mr. Yates was going to have his bust enshrined in Iola, Wisconsin, I spoke with him about splitting a team in September in a high-stakes event, so we could joke around, spend some time together, and for me, to have the honor of being around a guy like him. His answer: I have family coming in to Vegas, and I want to see what they want to do--before committing to another draft.
Here's hoping Yates and I get to draft together. May be then, I'll have a chance to win something.
That is, as long, as the Hulking guy, and Wasosky, aren't in the event.
Congrats guys--and I am humbled to be playing alongside you guys.
Luck to everyone this season.
The Practical Guy.

Congrats to everyone! I will echo they are great choices. I am sure (or assume) it was a difficult list to ultimately come up with. I love how the NFFC has been building a brand and history. This certainly contributes to that!
