Cutline pertaining to Thursday's game

Post by BillyWaz » Thu Sep 13, 2018 11:59 am

Greg/Tom/Darik,

Can you please explain the rules on dropping or picking up players playing in tonight's Ravens/Bengals game as it pertains to Friday's cutline waivers/pickups?

Thanks!

I posted this in the morning, but it looks like it's been buried by the other posts. Here you go:

Just a heads up that even though the NFFC Cutline Championship has best ball scoring during the first nine weeks of the regular season, you still have some work to do during the season. We have three FAAB deadlines during the regular season and they are as follows:

Bidding Time Frame:
There will be only three free agent periods during the regular season and none during the championship playoff.
Free agency will run on the Friday of the following weeks:

FAAB 1: Week 2
FAAB 2: Week 6
FAAB 3: Week 9

That means that the first FAAB period is this Friday at 10 pm ET. Get your bids entered and improve the team that you originally drafted. Good luck all.

Okay, one MAJOR rule change involving the Cutline Championship this year. In the past, players who already competed in the Thursday game weren't allowed to be picked up in FAAB. Then we switched it to allowing them to be picked up but not available to be put in your starting lineup until the next week. It also caused confusion in dropping players because the Thursday players couldn't be cut at that time as they were already locked.

With the new format as a best ball contest, we are now ALLOWING Thursday players to be picked up on Friday and used for that week's games. Since only one game will be in the books at that time, there's no guarantee that the players you pick up from that game will count toward your starting lineup or not. So to avoid confusion on cuts or pickups, all Thursday players WILL be allowed to be picked up and used that week as starters and you can cut any player from the Thursday game. It's a bit of a free look for those Thursday players still in FAAB during Weeks 2, 6 and 9.

Hope that helps. Much easier to manage in this format and since it's best ball it makes the most sense. Good luck all.

The players that were picked up yesterday are not showing up in the starting lineups.
