I thought long and hard about signing up for this one. Ultimately I thought it was a bad choice given my inexperience. I'll be there next year though.....
Good luck to all....

Congrats Greg on getting this league full...and best of luck to all of the 12 competitors. A strong list of participants...will be fun to watch how it plays out.

Hey Greg,
Any chance you think you could grow this from 12 to 14? If so, I would be in...which means in reality you would only need one more beyond me. First and foremost, I know you would need the initial 12 owners to approve it since they signed up under the premise of there being 12 teams. But with 14 there would be more money in the prize pool and for Fanball, and the rules as currently written really wouldn't need to change. Head-to-Head through 13 weeks and then the playoffs.
With the additional $20k in entry fees, maybe give $10 more to 1st, $5k more to 2nd, and $2k more to 3rd so 3rd place would at least get their money back; plus maybe $1k more to the Consolation Round winner. Fanball would get $2k more and the overall payout for this league would still be an industry best 95%.
What do you think...remotely possible? Regardless of how the additional $20k in entries would be distributed, I would jump in if you can get the league to 14 owners.
Thanks Greg...sorry if this causes any rumblings.

There is another owner who would take the 14th spot if folks wanted to make this a 14-team Diamond League. I know it's crazy, but just a thought. But if any of the original 12 doesn't want to go that route, then we'll stick with 12. But since Kevin posted, someone has stepped up and would jump in.
Thanks for considering.

I'd be up for a 14-team event, Greg. Lots of positives here:
1. More money in the pool (extra $19,000 to the winners if you keep the 95% payback)
2. Natural 13-week season (everyone plays each other once)
3. More competitive league
4. Kevin gets a chance to redeem himself

Thanks for considering. Would be down for 14 teams.

We have 14+ now who would be interested in a 14-teamer, but it's certainly not fair to change the rules of the contest after some folks have already paid. So we're not changing anything right now. I'm just going to email everyone individually and see what they say. If anyone objects, we'll stay as is. I think the format is awesome either way. I just never expected to get 14 teams at $10,000 each in the debut season, so I went with a 12-team format and that's where we are today.
