4 Classic League Titles Are Decided After Week 14

Post by Greg Ambrosius » Tue Dec 13, 2022 10:46 am

This is the 19th year of our signature event, the NFFC Classic, but it's the first year in which ALL of the prize money goes to the Top 3 teams in each league. We are still running an overall contest this year, but the only prize given out in the overall is a FREE 2023 NFFC Classic entry to the top overall team, valued at $2,000.

Of course, that team will also earn the distinction of our 19th overall champion. During the first 18 years of the NFFC Classic, we have had 18 different overall champions, so let's see if we get our first double overall champion or if we get a 19th straight first-time champion. Good luck to everyone who made it into the Classic Championship Round.

We finished this year with seven full leagues and 98 teams. The Top 3 teams advance to the Championship. We paid $16,000 to any team that won BOTH the h2h title and the points title through Week 14 and so far we have four of the seven leagues decided. Three other leagues had different h2h and points leaders, so each of those teams earned $5,000 and those teams will be playing for the remaining $11,000 league prize in Weeks 15-17. That is a straight total points battle for three weeks.

Here's a look at how the seven Classic leagues finished and the champions from each league:

(League, 1st place record, 2nd place record, league winners):
Classic Online, Sept. 1: two teams tied at 10-4; 2nd in points (William Dandridge won $5,000 for best h2h record and Chad Schroeder won $5,000 for most points)

Classic Las Vegas, Sept. 3: 13-1, 10-4; 2nd in points (Greg Voskanian won $5,000 for best h2h record and Josh Stratton won $5,000 for most points)

Classic Online, Sept. 6: five teams tied at 9-5; 1st in points (David Webb is the league champion and won $16,000)

Classic Online, Sept. 10: two teams tied at 11-3; 1st in points (Randy Mechels is the league champion and won $16,000)

Classic Las Vegas, Sept. 10: 12-2, 10-4; 2nd in points (Justin Kimbrough won $5,000 for best h2h record and Jim Sustar won $5,000 for most points)

Classic Online, Sept. 7: two teams tied at 11-3; 1st in points (Chris Eibl is the league champion and won $16,000)

Classic Online, Sept. 9: 13-1, 10-4; 1st in points (John Pierce is the league champion and won $16,000)

Great job everyone and best of luck to all 21 teams in the NFFC Classic Championship Round.

These results are NOT official until Thursday afternoon as Elias Sports Bureau will make final stat changes on Wednesday night. Please keep that in consideration, but as of today these are the current standings.

Also, if you want to see where you rank heading into the Championship Round, just go to Overall Standings and change Week 14 to Week 15. Teams are ranked there for the Championship Round and the Consolation Round. Thanks all and good luck.
