David Webb Wins 2023 NFFC Classic Title & $16,000+

David Webb of Littleton, Colorado became our 20th different champion in the 20 years that we've hosted the NFFC Classic Championship as his team won the overall title and captured the FREE 2024 NFFC Classic entry, valued at $2,000. All prize money this year was distributed through the league prizes with first place in each league earning $16,000 and only the one prize in the overall competition. This is the second straight year we've run the NFFC Classic this way.

David's "bring it on home" team also won the $16,000 league prize as he competed in the Las Vegas Classic League on Saturday, September 9th at 1 pm PT. David's team needed a strong Championship Round to win that league title as his team won the h2h league title, but finished 5th in his league in points. He went head-to-head with Craig Bernes in Weeks 15-17 to win that league title 508.50-445.40.

David finished 19th out of 84 teams in scoring during the NFFC Classic's regular season, but his team scored 174.35 points in Week 15 to jump up to second place overall. His team remained in second place after Week 16 when it scored 156.0 points and then jumped into the top spot in Week 17 when it capped off the Championship Round with 178.15 points. His total of 641.31 points was 48.17 points ahead of Craig Bernes, who he was competing against for the league prize money. Rounding out the Top 5 in the Championship Round were Michael Zucca, Jim Christie and Matthew Shepherd.

David's team drafted in the 8th spot in this league and his team was led in Week 17 by Joe Flacco with 31.75 points and DJ Moore with 30.90 points. Getting 26.10 points from Kansas City's kicker didn't hurt at all as well. Amon Ra-St. Brown added 22.90 points. David had two teams in the NFFC Classic's Championship round as his other team finished 11th overall. That team finished 2nd in its league.

I know this is a title that David has wanted for years. He first joined the NFFC in 2013 and just played in the NFFC Classic that year, eventually playing in it every year since then. He finished 2nd overall in the Classic in 2020, 4th overall in 2021, 5th overall in 2014, 5th overall in 2019 and 5th overall in 2020. He FINALLY has finished in the top spot and is crowned as our 20th NFFC Classic Champion.

The "bring it on home" team beat a field of 18 teams in the Championship Round and a total field of 84 teams as the NFFC Classic finished with six full leagues in 2023. We paid the Top 3 teams in each league and those 18 teams advanced to the Championship Round. It's amazing that we still have not had a repeat overall champion in our signature 14-team national championship, but I promise we will return for a 21st season using this same prize format.

David Webb became our 20th different NFFC Classic champion in 20 seasons after winning the 2023 NFFC Classic title. That's pretty remarkable that no owner has ever been able to repeat as champion of our unique 14-team format. This is our signature event and definitely one of the toughest titles to win in the industry.

This season marked the second straight year that we put all of the prize money into the league prizes, with first place earning $16,000. David did win his league title and that $16,000 prize and he also won a FREE 2024 NFFC Classic entry valued at $2,000. He's the first entrant into the 2024 Classic Championship and maybe he will be the first past champion to repeat. We'll find out in another year!!
