Srebro & Emma Win 2024 NFFC Primetime & $250,000

The tag team of Mark Srebro of York, Pennsylvania and Jason Emma of Hanover Township, Pennsylvania made a historic comeback in Week 17 to capture the 2024 NFFC Primetime Championship title and the $250,000 grand prize. Their "teenage wasteland" team jumped from 46th place at the start of Week 17 into 1st place with a 261.35 point week. They needed a late 4th quarter 30-yard touchdown run by Jahmyr Gibbs to move up one more spot and capture the title.

This is actually Mark's and Jason's second NFFC national championship title together as they won the very first NFFC Classic Championship overall title in 2004. This win bookmarks their time together as partners in the NFFC as they have had a very successful run together. Mark actually has THREE NFFC National Championships under his belt as he also won the 2016 NFFC Draft Champions National Championship. Mark is already an NFBC Hall of Famer as he leads everyone with the most NFBC Main Event league titles and has won more than 70 league titles since 2004.

But this title might rank right up there with the most unexpected as Mark and Jason needed an epic comeback to win this title. We are calling this a historic comeback, but honestly history is just repeating itself from a year ago. In 2023, Jeff Kozlowski won the NFFC Primetime title and the $250,000 grand prize by also leaping from 46th place to first place with a 244.15 point Week 17. This now marks the SECOND STRAIGHT YEAR that someone has come from 46th place to 1st place in Week 17 to take down the NFFC Primetime title!!! That's incredible.

Mark and Jason drafted this Primetime Online team on Sunday morning, September 8th and won the league title outright with an 11-3 record and 2,087.05 points. That was good for 66th most points overall among our 1,056 Primetime teams. They moved up to 51st after their team scored 178.6 points in Week 15 and then inched up to 46th place in Week 16 after scoring 173.35 points. They didn't look like contenders heading into Week 17 as they were 71.72 points out of first place with 45 teams ahead of them.

But they made the same final push that Kozlowski did in 2023 and even scored more points than Jeff did last year. With games spread out over five days, they got 24.5 points on Christmas Day from Derrick Henry. Then they got 41.1 points on Saturday from Tee Higgins and 30.3 points from Trey McBride. They jumped to the Top 5 when Baker Mayfield put up 48.15 points in the early Sunday time slot while giving Mike Evans another 29.7 points. As if that wasn't enough, Philadelphia's defense got 23.0 points.

That put "teenage wasteland" in fourth place heading into the Monday Night game, 43+ points behind Randy Mechels, who was sitting comfortably in first place with no players left. He was 40+ points in the lead, but "teenage wasteland" was the only team with two Detroit players going on Monday Night. They had Gibbs and Amon St. Brown and Dan Campbell chose not to sit his starters, even though this game didn't mean anything to the Lions. In epic fashion, St. Brown put up 20.0 points and Gibbs had 17.3 points with just under 3 minutes left in the game and the Lions holding onto a 6-point lead. He took an easy pitch around the right side and sprinted down the sideline for 30 yards and the TD, putting "teenage wasteland" in first place and securing the championship.

"teenage wasteland" finished with a winning total of 762.38 points, just 2.29 points ahead of Mechels, who won $50,000 for his runner-up finish. NFFC veteran Scott Stauffer finished third to win $20,000 with Donnie Braud ($15,000) and Jesse Wachtel ($12,500) rounding out the Top 5. Randy actually moved up seven spots in Week 17 with his 223.4 point effort, while Scott jumped 20 spots in the last week when his team scored 230.0 points, but none of it was enough to stop the onslaught from "teenage wasteland."

We paid the Top 25 teams overall in the Championship Round and the Top 3 in the Consolation Round. Charlie Visconsi won the Consolation Round with 728.07 points to earn $2,500.

Srebro and Emma had three NFFC Primetime Online teams in 2024 and he was in the other two leagues with Randy Mechels. They didn't cash in those leagues, but one of the teams did finish 17th in the Consolation Round. They did win two NFFC Best Ball Championship league titles and finished as high as 103rd in the overall standings.

Mark and Jason have been playing in the NFFC since 2004 as they first came out to Las Vegas for our debut Live Event. Mark bragged on the Message Boards back then that he was going to win the first Classic championship title and people could hardly wait to see this guy in Las Vegas. Everyone ended up drinking with these guys and finding out they are good players. Recently they have been competing in New York and this year they were in the New York $2500 Auction League in New York City. I'm being told that they will be in Las Vegas this March for the NFBC Live Events and we can celebrate their win there and then maybe again next September!!! Congrats again guys on the national championship.

The NFFC Primetime finished with 1,056 teams this year, with 272 teams making the Championship Round. We expect even bigger numbers for this contest in 2025 as we will be returning to Park MGM in Las Vegas. We're still talking about a New York City option and will have more details on that soon. We can't wait to get the new season started and we look forward to opening the NFFC draft room soon with NFFC Draft Champions league drafts. Stay tuned for more details on that.

Mark Srebro and Jason Emma join an elite list of champions in the NFFC Primetime, including Chad Schroeder who is our only two-time Primetime champion. Chad won the title in 2018 and in 2010, but overall we've had 16 different Primetime champions in 17 years.
