Chris Eibl Wins TWO NFFC 12-Team Ultimate Titles & $60,000

Post by Greg Ambrosius » Fri Jan 03, 2025 4:57 pm

NFFC Hall of Famer Chris Eibl of Chicago, Illinois added to his impressive resume -- not to mention his pocketbook -- by winning TWO NFFC 12-Team Ultimate League titles in 2024. Chris swept all of the prizes in the NFFC 12-Team Ultimate Online League on September 3rd to win $35,000 and then won the Championship Round of the NFFC Las Vegas 12-Team Ultimate League to add another $25,000 prize.

Chris also won the NFFC 12-Team Ultimate League title in 2022, giving him three Ultimate League titles in three years. He joins Chad Schroeder as the only players to win three NFFC 12-Team Ultimate League titles.

Let's analyze his September 3rd Ultimate Online league team first, the one that won both regular season prizes and the Championship Round prize. His "Rex Grossman" team went 11-3 to win the h2h title by two games and it finished with the most points (2,085.60), 19.65 points ahead of Stephen Ciepiela.

Chris, Stephen, Chad Schroeder and David Coman made into the Championship Round of this league and Chris never relinquished the lead. His team scored 180.3 points in Week 15, 192.65 in Week 16 and 109.1 in Week 17. Despite the stumble in Week 17, Team Rex Grossman won the title with 631.02 points, finishing 28.01 points ahead of Chad Schroeder. Chad won $12,500 for his runner-up finish, while Ciepiela finished third to win $5,500. Joel Kendall won the Consolation Round with 659.45 points to win $1,000.

Team Rex Grossman was led throughout the year by Lamar Jackson, who scored 50.0 points in Week 15 and then added 63.65 points in Weeks 16 and 17. James Connor added 30.0 points in Week 15 and CeeDee Lamb scored 26.6 that week, Dallas's Kicker also added 40.6 points in Weeks 15 and 16. Kyren Williams, Brock Bowers and even the Packers' Defense in Week 16 against the Saints provided big production during the Championship Round. This was a well balanced team with production from every starting spot. Well done Chris.

Chris drafted from the 1st spot and he avoided the CMC landmine by taking Lamb 1st overall. He followed that up with picks of Jaylen Waddle, Zay Flowers, Kyren Williams and Lamar Jackson. Getting James Connor in Round 6, Brock Bowers in Round 9 and the Cowboys' Kicker in Round 16 certainly contributed to another championship season for our NFFC Hall of Famer.

Great job everyone and we'll do it again in 2025. I'm confident we will get at least two 12-Team Ultimate Leagues in 2025 and maybe even one more. Stay tuned.

Okay, let's now analyze Chris Eibl's winning team in the NFFC Las Vegas 12-Team Ultimate League. Chris won the Championship Round and that $25,000 prize, but he didn't win any of the regular season prizes. His team finished second at 9-5 for best h2h record and was second in points with 2,121.70.

Roger Gonzalez won $5,000 for best h2h record as his team finished 11-3 and Michael Fonte won $5,000 for most points with 2,153.75. That was 32.05 points more than Chris put up. Those three teams, plus Mark Fierer's team, advanced to the Championship Round.

Chris's "Rex Grossman" team needed a big comeback to win this title. His team was still in second place after posting 148.95 points in Week 15 and it actually fell to third place in Week 16 after posting 171.50 points. But it rallied for the win in Week 17 with 187.4 points as he got contributions from every position. This was such a competitive Championship Round that all four teams finished with 610+ points, which is pretty wild. Rex Grossman finished with 659.40 points to finish 20.71 points ahead of Mark Fierer. Gonzalez finished third with 632.1 points and Fonte finished fourth despite scoring 611.74 points. What a Championship Round that was.

Chris earned $25,000 for the championship, while Roger won $12,500 for his runner-up finish and Mark earned $5,500 for his third place finish. This prize structure was tweaked in 2024 to spread a little more of the wealth to all three spots. Michael Zucca won the Consolation Round with 651.15 points to win $1,000.

Team Rex Grossman was led in Week 17 by Joe Burrow's 47.1 points, but it also got 30.1 points from Trey McBride, 30.0 points from DeVonta Smith, 24.5 points from Derrick Henry and 22.9 points from Puka Nacua. Week 17 was held over five days from the Christmas Day games on Wednesday through the Monday Night Game, giving everyone their fair share of enjoyment and heartbreak during the Championship Rounds. Congrats to Chris and all of our prize winners in this league.

Chris drafted from the 11th spot in this league, almost completely on the other side of his Ultimate Online team. This draft was held after the Chiefs-Ravens Thursday Night Game and he started off with Nacua, Rashee Rice, Smith, Henry, McBride and James Connor. Getting Burrow in Round 9, Chuba Hubbard in Round 10 and T.J. Hockenson in Round 15 led to this championship team.

Great job everyone and we'll do it again in 2025. See you in Las Vegas at Park MGM on Friday, September 5th for this fun league.
