memphis has a ton of places of interest.graceland , riverboats , gambling half hour away at the grand casino tunica.great food and you can spend 75-200 a night in hotels.the crown plaza at beale st would be awsome to hold the draft.you also would draw new owners to join while keeping the florida base.its an idea.

Someone suggested Memphis. I had not thought about it before but the more I do the more sense it makes. Although I think I'm hooked on Vegas now.

I think Florida is the right state, but Orlando and Tampa are the wrong cities. Fort Lauderdale or Miami is where you should be looking in to. I’m sure if it would have been in one of those two cities I personally could have rounded up more owners than were there for the main event. Fantasy football is big in South Florida.

Curious, how far is Tampa/Orlando from South Florida? Diehards would drive this short distance if they wanted to play.

I still think a 4th city is going to be a waste of time, regardless of the location. Seriously, if people don't want to come to the Sunshine State, you're not going to get them anywhere.

You say Memphis...anywhere in TX...etc. it doesn't peak my interest, whereas Chicago/New York/Vegas do.

Toronto is appealing, but it's proximity to Chicago/New York lessens the appeal.

my $.02 on a few of these....
1) Time between events - personally I think the three hours was too long...but I understand why some would like the longer break. How about a compromise at 2.5 hours?

2/3) Entry Fees - I want the entry fees to be enough to offer AT LEAST the $100,000 first prize and as entries allow increase the league prizes. If the amount of entries justifies an increase in the overall awards - ie NFFC Classic based on 308 entries is going to pay $100K then there should be a bump at 372 or 386. Corresponding numbers - whatever you require should be scaled for NBC Primetime. I have no problem with keeping them the same and see no reason why the 12 teamers should cost less.

to follow up to Hook... how many entries would be needed to have $100K in each event if the fee was $1K in each event?

And add online/phone option in each event....

A lower price point might easily get more entries in today's world.

It is funny, about 5 minutes after shooting off that post I was back and work and wondering, "I hope that did not come off like I was complaining about how things are done in NYC..." That is obviously not my intention as not only do I love this event and praise it to anyone and everyone.. I try hard to recruit people in.

You and your staff do an amazing job in NYC and based on stories I hear from other events, we are clearly spoiled. I have had enough trouble getting my home league together some years and have everyone on time so I can imagine what you go through with registration, set up, facilitators, phone hookups, late arrivals, etc.

I was throwing out ideas as I got the sense that was the theme of the thread. I was just thinking maybe there are some ways to make the draft seem different from a home draft (outside of the stakes and several other drafts going on around us). I personally think the NFFC is going to be viewed as the premier high stakes/professional fantasy football competition in the country in a few years. Doing little things to add a little fanfare/drama to the event would likely make it exciting for newcomers.

That was my point. Hope there was no misunderstanding.
