$100,000 Online Championship prize?
Greg and Tom, how many entrants will be needed to increase the Online Championship top prize to $100,000? 1200 - 1500 maybe?

$100,000 Online Championship prize?

We have already met and talked about an even more aggressive plan for 2012 with a new Registration page that will easily show you how many spots are available for each Online Championship League each night. We'll also more easily be able to process KDS and churn out draft spots hours before a scheduled draft if folks want to compete that way. We have every intention of being ready to host online drafts much earlier this year without the lockout in our way and thus we feel very, very confident that we will top last year's final number.
So I feel very confident that we will come out of the chute in 2012 with a bigger guaranteed grand prize. Could it be $100,000? It's very possible. We'll decide that shortly, but I like where this contest is headed.
We still want to provide the highest league prizes in this $350 format and thus with a $1,400 1st place prize and a $700 second place prize we'd need 1,600 teams to reach a goal of a $100,000 grand prize.
Can we do it? Letting me know how many three-packs you plan on taking and then we'll plan accordingly. Thanks for asking. I can't wait for 2012.

[/QUOTE]This is key IMO. Be top points and record in your league and you automatically double your money!
The 3 week race for the extra $700 (if you didn't already win both) is perfect as well. Nothing worse than having the best team all year, and losing in week 12 because you had an off week or ran into a buzzsaw.
Raising the overall prizes is nice, but not at the cost of compromising these league prizes.
Just my opinion.

$100,000 Online Championship prize?
Here is my opinion...
I don't play fantasy football like some people play the lottery. So when I play, I shoot for winning my league. The overall prize is a bit of a lottery game and it's a fun part of this game, however, the league prizes are what will keep people coming back.
The huge overall prize is great for the small handful of people that ever see this kind of prize, but to keep people playing each year, they need to bring enough money back into their pockets to feel that the time/work/effort was compensated when they win a league.
My 2cents
