Look...I just drafted in a NFFC league where one team drafted four defenses in a row for picks 12, 13, 14, and 15. Can you imagine the screaming about that if this were done in this league? This kind of thing can happen in any league. It's neither fair nor unfair, it's just the way it is.
Two years ago I drafted in a live WCOFF league where one Owner failed to show. A facilitator sat in and drafted a strong team based on ADP. There was an avalanche of criticism that the WCOFF should have let this Owner suffer the consequences of no-showing by letting his team suck. You see, the game operators will be roundly criticized either way. If a weak team is drafted, it's "not fair" because the other 13 teams have an advantage in that league. If a good team is drafted, it's "not fair" because the game operators were complicit in helping an Owner in this contest. Can you imagine the storm that would ensue if this team that was drafted by the game operator actually won the league? Holy cow, the threat of lawsuits would be deafening.
The procedure in Boston should have been better clarified and implemented, but ultimately it's a no-win situation for the game operator because Owners will feel it's unfair either way.
I'm not condoning what happened. Players on IR shouldn't be drafted. But it's irreversible at this point and the game operators have explained themselves the best they can. You can agree or disagree with it, but it's done.
Rules should be clarified for future drafts, but it's time to move on now. I am a little late to the discussion but this above post feels like an example of mind reading.
I was on the verge of typing something very similar. No need to repeat it. It was a bad situation. While I can understand the frustration and the fear that something like this can hurt the overall competitive integrity of the event we all love so much, the true finger pointing should be at the owner who did not hold up his end of the bargain by showing up to draft a team he was responsible for. Even if "something came up" he should have called or gotten a buddy to do the draft over the phone.
Anyone playing fantasy football should understand that their presence at the draft is imperative and is directly related to the experience of the other owners in the league. Whether that be a home league or a high stakes league.
I actually feel bad for the other owners in this league. I don't think they should be playing out this season with a scarlet letter "a" for "advantage" on their shirts. They did nothing wrong. In retrospect maybe things could have been done differently. Aside from if all owners in the league agreed to an online re-draft, I can't see what can be done now. Part of me thinks this is one of those situations where the game operators could make an "executive decision in the best interests of the game" that allows the owner in question to pick up some free agents now to fill the dead spots on the roster before week one. Kind of like how they could have allowed something for the teams hurt by the hurricane last year that cancelled a game. Other than that, not sure what else can be done.
Every year things happen that ultimately result in the overall game/product being improved and rules being streamlined.
This is another one of those things.
I hope we can all move on and get ready for kickoff Thursday night.

That "tidbit" is garbage, Todd did a great job in Boston. They followed the rules and drafted from NFFC top 300 ADP and filled out his roster.
MJD-Greene-Romo-B.Wells-Celek were his first 5 picks, then Rice and V.Jackson who ended up drafted in every Classic league, then Housh-Jets-Hartley, also drafted in every NFFC Classic league.
I wouldn't worry about it, even if the rules said "no IR players" only 3 picks would've been different and those were all after the 10th round I think...Avery, Tate, Hardesty.

Glenn, I am only going to say this to you once - if you make your post one more time you will be banned from these boards for one week. You are not contributing anything positive to this situation. You are only inflaming it. You were not in Boston. You do not know what happened. You have every right to view this as an NFFC participant but given how you know nothing of what transpired I strongly suggest you remain on the sidelines.
Thank you.
Thank you.

I don't think Eric has even checked in yet to view his team or give it a name..would be nice to see him do at least that now? Not sure if he has players in tomorrows game but if he does i hope he knows? It is a shame that the team playing him this week is 1-0 already esp. knowing we play him week eight when he will be getting his big WRs back. The H2H winner in that league will have alot to do with this situation unfortunately. Well at least we have total points to shoot for. Im starting to think the idea of an all play type schedule wasn't the best way to go for this league. How terrible will it be to lose a tie breaker for h2h with the team that gets the gift win this week while Erics team beats you in week 10....

I'm not sure what the difference is at this point so it seems silly to argue about it. These things happen. I was in FFPC online championship draft a few week back where the owner went on auto after Rd. 11 and ended up taking 9 QBs.
