NFFC Rules Proposals For 2012

Post by Dirty Deeds » Wed Dec 21, 2011 7:47 am

1. Would you like to see 1 Point Per Reception for Running Backs be given consistently over all of our NFFC games, including the 14-team formats? If no, then you are voting for 1/2 point Per Reception for RBs in 14-team formats and PPR for RBs in 12-team formats.

Yes...The NFL has evolved into a passing league and a 1 Point PPR is really needed to keep RB's an integeral part of Fantasy Football

2. Would you like to see a third team from each NFFC Primetime league advance to the Championship Round? Right now two teams from each Primetime league advance to the Championship Round.

No....There are 64 teams in the Primetime Championship this year. As noted above, a lottery ticket into the Playoffs for $100K is not justified for the teams that qualified the real way...by scoring and winning.

3. Would you like to see the Wild Card numbers for the Championship Rounds in the Classic and Primetime increase, possibly to 20% for Classic and 15% for Primetime?

No and Yes...15% is a fair number for both the Classic and Primtime to compensate for those few teams that scored very high points but were bitten by the H2H record and an unbalanced league.

4. Would you like to see individual players receive special teams points for punt and kickoff TD returns, along with rewarding the Specials Team that produced the TD? In essence, scoring for two players.

No...If you were to award Individual Special Teams points then you would have to eliminate the DST points. Furthermore you would have to award Yardage for Individual Special Team Points. Whats Next...Points for Punters ??

5. With 6 points per passing touchdown remaining in the NFFC, would you be in favor of increasing points for interceptions to -2 from -1?

Yes...But 2 Point interceptions and 2 Point Fumbles Regardless of Position

6. Do you agree with the current format that rewards h2h and total points regular season champions with payouts after Week 13?

Yes

7. Would you rather have a playoff format for the NFFC Primetime in Weeks 14-16 where the third, fourth and fifth place seeds are given the chance to battle for third place prize money only? So rather than reward third place $700 after Week 13, three teams would battle for that prize money in Weeks 14-16.

No...No...No

8. For Draft Champions Leagues, would you like to have a Live Scoring format that allows your starting lineup to show actual point totals based on the top scores at that time for all 10 positions?

BIG YES..Played in NFFC for 6 Years now and this year was my first Draft Champions (Slow Draft) I hate that after the Draft I get little if no weekly feedback and interaction

9. Would you like an option that allows you to receive your Classic and Primetime draft slots by early August, knowing that you'd have to set your KDS preferences by then? This would allow anyone who wanted early draft spots to all be chosen accordingly but NOT be placed into the same leagues together.

No...The Entire NFFC Drafting system is unique and the main reason I have played 6 years. Keeping it the same as always is a No Brainer. 3RR and KDS create the perfect system. I would bet that anyone who does not like it has not played in the NFFC very long and just does not understand it. Again, you have the Perfect System that is Industry Unique.

NFFC Rules Proposals For 2012

1. Would you like to see 1 Point Per Reception for Running Backs be given consistently over all of our NFFC games, including the 14-team formats? If no, then you are voting for 1/2 point Per Reception for RBs in 14-team formats and PPR for RBs in 12-team formats.
Yes - all leagues should be the same. 1 point PPR for all positions.

2. Would you like to see a third team from each NFFC Primetime league advance to the Championship Round? Right now two teams from each Primetime league advance to the Championship Round.
No - let the playoffs reward only the best players.

3. Would you like to see the Wild Card numbers for the Championship Rounds in the Classic and Primetime increase, possibly to 20% for Classic and 15% for Primetime?
No

4. Would you like to see individual players receive special teams points for punt and kickoff TD returns, along with rewarding the Specials Team that produced the TD? In essence, scoring for two players.
Yes - the player did score the TD after all.

5. With 6 points per passing touchdown remaining in the NFFC, would you be in favor of increasing points for interceptions to -2 from -1?
No - that is just too weird. The QBs are strong in this league. If you are worried about that, reduce the points for TDs to 4. don't mess with the 1 point ppr.

6. Do you agree with the current format that rewards h2h and total points regular season champions with payouts after Week 13?
Yes - although I would like to see a little something for the 3rd place team, even if it just free (of half price) entry into the online contest next year.

Yes - sounds like a great idea.

8. For Draft Champions Leagues, would you like to have a Live Scoring format that allows your starting lineup to show actual point totals based on the top scores at that time for all 10 positions?
N/A

9. Would you like an option that allows you to receive your Classic and Primetime draft slots by early August, knowing that you'd have to set your KDS preferences by then? This would allow anyone who wanted early draft spots to all be chosen accordingly but NOT be placed into the same leagues together.
Yes

10. Do you think you would participate if the NFFC added some side games using your Main Event rosters for optional contests like Draft Slot Challenge (yearly prizes for top teams from each draft spot), Bracket Challenges, Weekly High Point Contests and other types of similar contests? All would be optional and participants could compete as often or as little as they wanted.
Yes

NFFC Rules Proposals For 2012

Just a heads up: All of this feedback is great and adds to the conversation, but some folks think I'm actually taking a survey here. I'm not. All of you will get a chance to answer these questions and any other questions you want added to the next survey that we send out in January. Feel free to keep responding in full here if you'd like, but this isn't our official survey. That will come next month. Thanks all.

NFFC Rules Proposals For 2012

I wish it was 1/2 PPR for RBs for all formats...really unfair that true 20 carry per game RBs can be at disadvantage to screen pass specialists like Pierre Thomas

No. I love the uniqueness of the .5 per rec in the classic and think its important. It lowers the value of RB which is perfect for a 14 team league since that is the scarcest position. In a 14 team format if its 1 pt per rec for RB I think it will go back to RB dominating most of the first 2 rounds of the draft. The way it is makes for more diverse strategies among managers.

2. Would you like to see a third team from each NFFC Primetime league advance to the Championship Round? Right now two teams from each Primetime league advance to the Championship Round.
Yes
No

A mild - Yes. No strong opinion on this

3. Would you like to see the Wild Card numbers for the Championship Rounds in the Classic and Primetime increase, possibly to 20% for Classic and 15% for Primetime?
Yes
No

no strong opinion.

4. Would you like to see individual players receive special teams points for punt and kickoff TD returns, along with rewarding the Specials Team that produced the TD? In essence, scoring for two players.
Yes
No

Absolutely - YES. I can't stand owning a WR that runs an amazing kick return for a TD and I don't get the TD. The way this rule is now it is a disadvantage in every way to have your WR return kicks. Why not reward the 0-3 times per year he actually takes one to the house.

5. With 6 points per passing touchdown remaining in the NFFC, would you be in favor of increasing points for interceptions to -2 from -1?
Yes
No

No. INTs are too flukey. Your QB is already punished by turning the ball over and having to leave the field.

6. Do you agree with the current format that rewards h2h and total points regular season champions with payouts after Week 13?
Yes
No

Yes.

7. Would you rather have a playoff format for the NFFC Primetime in Weeks 14-16 where the third, fourth and fifth place seeds are given the chance to battle for third place prize money only? No

Ummmm. yes. I guess so

8. For Draft Champions Leagues, would you like to have a Live Scoring format that allows your starting lineup to show actual point totals based on the top scores at that time for all 10 positions?
Yes
No

Yes.

9. Would you like an option that allows you to receive your Classic and Primetime draft slots by early August, knowing that you'd have to set your KDS preferences by then? Sure

Sure.

I know its not the official survey but it looked fun to add my 2 cents.....

I would like to see INTs count as -2.... turnover machine qbs like fitzpatrick, grossman, tyler thigpen shouldn't have qb1 status so easy

Would recommend making a shutout worth 20 pts. They happen so rarely that if your DST manages to get one, it would either boost a decent scoring week or offset poor performances from other players on your rosters.

NFFC Rules Proposals For 2012

Couple things...

1. I would like to see individual points awarded for players who score TD's on kick/punt returns. This would add value to players like Devin Hester.

2. INT's to go to minus two points. I realize that INT's aren't always the QB's fault but at the same time, they get credit for a TD on a screen pass where they may have only threw the ball a couple yards and the RB/WR did all the work in getting into the endzone. Matt Stafford had a four INT game against Chi this year and another three INT game against Green Bay where his fantasy points were still very good even though both of those efforts were horrible.

3. Shutouts to be 15 points and increase the points awarded for safeties. Both are so rare that your defense should be rewarded when those actually occur.

-2 a pick just further widens the already wide gap with the 6 a TD. Would not like to see that at all.

NFFC Rules Proposals For 2012

Okay, as I suggested in another thread, we are going to create a survey that will be distributed next month via email to all 2011 NFFC players. That survey will ask for feedback on potential rules proposals for 2012 that can help our games. I'm looking for suggestions to put on that survey. Not all of them will make it on the survey, but let's see what you have!!

Here are some early thoughts:

1. Would you like to see 1 Point Per Reception for Running Backs be given consistently over all of our NFFC games, including the 14-team formats? If no, then you are voting for 1/2 point Per Reception for RBs in 14-team formats and PPR for RBs in 12-team formats.

Okay, this is a starting point. Feel free to comment on the eight proposals above and if you have any other ideas to post them on this thread. We'll put the survey together after receiving your input and send it out after the season. Thanks all. Here goes from someone that will be more inclined to play a whole lot more football events next year.

1. Yes
2. The 10% rule is enough for me.
3. 15 or 20 percent is fine with me.
4. NO
5. Wouldn't bother me
6. Absolutely
7. I'm ok with that.
8. I'm for anything that continues to improve live scoring in all formats. Live scoring is the essence of all fantasy games. Period.
9. No. Everyone should have the same advance notice. One week is fair to everyone. This is a deal breaker to me. I love the big time guys, but come on they have a big enough advantage.
10. Absolutely not. This will not attract the masses. It's for the professionals to continue to crush the uninformed.

Most replying at this point (not me) are the top tier guys. I think you'll get a better read on this when send out your survey to the masses.
