I still think that we can play teams more than once. The fair way off doing this would be that the KDS 1 would play the KDS2 twice during the regular season and so on. If there were 2 extra weeks then it might be the KDS 1 vs KDS3 and so on. If the teams that get their early choice of KDS do have an advantage then this would help nullify it. Besides, total points win anyways so the H2H component of the contest isn't a make or break situation. It just allows somebody to get lucky and win without having the best team.

Personally, I have no problem if we play a team or two 2X and everyone else just 1X. It's better than "all play" and there's a lot of luck involved in the W-L records, anyway. (In one of my league's this year the team with the top W-L record has the 2nd to lowest point total.)

Greg, as Russ noted above - in year one it seems prudent to make the schedule 18 weeks 'just in case' - and if it turns out to be a non issue then simply expand it for year 2 of the 18 game schedule.
From a biz perspective - why not make it 18 weeks then run a bonus contest for $100 and $5k grand prize of pick'em for weeks 19 and 20 - put a little extra bling in fanballs pocket and toss around a few extra late season dollars to keep the game fun even for those out of it During the first year of the NFFC Primetime, we ran All Play during the last two weeks of the regular season. Some top teams did suffer losses those weeks as a Top 6 finish isn't a guarantee even for the top teams in each league. But last year we moved All Play to the first two weeks and continued that this year. With all teams in full strength, it made the most sense and I think that's the way to go if we do any All Play for the NFFC Classic.
Maybe 18 weeks is the way to go initially to be safe, but I'm still not convinced that has to be done. Let's see how this year plays out. I just hate leaving 10+% of the season out. But I totally understand why we'd do that and I do agree that initially it might be the way to go.
Let's just get a labor agreement soon so that we can all plan accordingly. If the NFL season starts on Labor Day weekend, that will really throw all of the contests into a frenzy. Does the NFL still start the season the Thursday before Labor Day weekend then? Would people actually draft the third weekend of August or would the NFFC keep its Labor Day draft weekend?
There are lots of decisions forthcoming once that labor agreement is reached. Let's hope it happens before the end of the NFL season.

Larry, do you consider this a positive for the overall health of the contest? I have no problem with the top h2h teams getting in, but the 6th place h2h is tough to watch. The prize money is distributed evenly between h2h vs total points. The playoff spots should be distributed in the same manner, imo. Staggering the spots is the fairest way.

Fast Money -- I'm not sure what you're asking me?
What I meant is that suppose we have 14 teams in a league and 15 weeks of the regular season. I'd be okay with the idea that we play every team once, and we play 2 teams a second time, chosen randomly...rather than have two weeks of "all play."
