Is 160 the new 140?

Post by Greg Ambrosius » Tue Sep 20, 2011 9:42 am

ESPN's John Clayton just reported that NFL scoring after two weeks is 46.9 a game. That's 7.9 better than last year. Now add the additional yardage per game to the more than a touchdown more per game in scoring times 16 games per week and we can all understand why 160 is last year's 140. Pretty amazing, but as most folks said, wait until the bye weeks kick in. That plus the continued injuries will slow this pace down, I would think.

Anybody else think it has something to do with defenders afraid to nail wideouts?Or any player for that matter.
