Mid A League - Need advice on Gecko offer

Gecko wants to cut a deal in the Mid-A League..

Question 1....

I'm curious... What do you guys think of deals like this?

Question 2.... Mid A plays to week 16. Total points wins.

I have 915.05 after 6 weeks. (3 firsts, 3 fifths)
Gek has 867.85

His first e-mail simply asks if I'd be interested.
Second e-mail indicates it would pay for our Auction teams next year.
3rd e-mail offers $500 each and $250 to winner.

Do you take any of them?

Anything can happen the last 6 weeks. 50 points can be made up by next half time.

I'm sensing a little desparation here as he just found out Pennington will be out a few more weeks and he has to go with either Garrard, Q.Carter, P.Ramsay, or a FA QB.

As you can see, we both are deep at WR. I can't even play Toomer.

He drafted 9th, and I drafted 11th.

There is one team 10 pts behind Gek. #4 is 75 pts behind Gek.

I'd make the deal. You are an A.Green injury away from 3rd place. Actually, if A.Green starts splitting carries with Fisher, you'd be closer to 4th place.

Locking in some nice profits....assuming one of us wins. Like you said...50 points is nothing.

Actually, your QB is injured and you have lost ground the last 2 weeks.

If McNabb gets hit by a truck I could slip into 7th place. You have Portis go down, you fall to 7th. What's your point Dr. Obvious?

Of course you'd make the deal. Your behind by 50 points and have to go with Quincy or a FA QB next week. That's why you e-mailed me 3 offers yesterday. I found that quite humorous.

I'm not one for these types of arrangements. Winning or losing in the final week(s) just wouldn't be the same. Good luck....

fyi.... A.Green has been banged up all 6 weeks so far and he's done fine so far. I'll take my chances with him and I have Fisher and Davenport.

Of course it's legit. Never said it wasn't. Have a hard time seeing your e-mail if you were up by 50 though. It's also a legit practice to say no to such offers.

I run with the model that doesn't reduce my potential profit by 50%. I play fantasy sports for more than just money. It's a nice escape from the grind. I love the thrill of winning. And If I win, I don't want 50% of the reward. And If I lose, I don't want 50% of someone else's hard earned vicory.

I'd hate winning 50% less more than locking in whatever. When fantasy sports turns into something like hedging oil contracts, that takes the fun of it out for me and I'll pass. But that's just me.

In 2 weeks, you've fallen from 50 to 192 points back.

Does this make you a bad owner now? Based on some of your posts, I think it qualifies.

No shame in going from 210 to #84 with all those injuries Week 2.

Making the playoffs in LV is possible according to the rules I signed up for.

If you lose this week, and Lumpy wins and beats you by 10, we could meet round 1. You'll have to give me around 60 points, but my team seems to bring out the worst in other teams in that league.
