FF Unscientific Poll

Post by BillyWaz » Sat Jun 16, 2007 6:04 am

As most others have already said, it is pretty much a combination of all three.

Respect from everyone else is what I play for. Knowing you were the best of 14, 300, 9,000, etc. is the "JUICE" for me.

As someone mentioned, money brings out the "best" in people, and high stakes REALLY bring it out.

As far as it being a hobby, that isn't my motive. I can't describe why I don't consider it a hobby, but for all the people out there who CONSISTENTLY lose $$ year in and year out, I just don't get it. For example, whenever I go to the casino, I used to occasionally play Blackjack with my wife. She does well with it, but I do not. Why would I continue to lose $$, when I could do something else?

Just like in Rounders when Matt Damon and the "sharks" are playing against the tourists at the Taj...

The oft-photographed Benetti (Ted's Cracked) has
it pretty much right.
For those who just love football, why no satellites for Europa? That Cologne/Amsterdam
game was a nail-biter wasn't it?!!?!?

This is a "high-stakes" league .....

Money is not everything.....so

1. Competition/bragging rights
2. Money
3. Fun

In all honesty if there were no High Stakes leagues just one "Whomever wins is the best" league I would play in that league even if there were no prizes (Assuming entry fee were free or very low).
Its like the ALL STAR GAME, PRO BOWL or RYDER CUP. At some point in the past playing in those events was more for the acknowledgement of great achievement, not for the money!

But I digress....

I'm sure like me all have one at least one non money League. You know that empty feeling you get when you win and you get nothing for it.

Well that's why I will only play in money Leagues from now on.

I guess also once a gambler always a gambler.

My order would be.

1. Money
2. Money
3. Money
4. You get it, by now. Alright I'll answer this for real.

1. Play vs. the best around.
2. Recognition, bragging rights, and competition.
3. Love Football and it's the best hobby around.

But the money part doesn't hurt. :D
