Thanks No, that's the Draft Champions format where you draft and then don't pick up any players. You DO pick up free agents in the Auction Championship.

So let's say Adrian Peterson is nominated for $50, then anyone can chime in with a higher bid and it keeps going like this: "51, 52, 53, 54, 55, 57, going once, going twice, SOLD."
Then you subtract $57 from $260 and that owner has $203 left for 18 players. In the Auction format, you have a chance to get EVERY available player, as long as your budget allows it. It's the fairest way to assemble a team.
Once the auction is over, then the regular season is run the same way as the draft leagues, with $1000 to acquire free agents, head-to-head matchups, playoffs, etc. Sound good?

NFFC Unveils First Auction Championship
My preference for League and Overall prizes would be "All-Play" for 16 weeks.
Auctions are as pure as you can get for drafting, why not use the purest form for rewarding the best teams?
Be bold with this new product!
If not, I would prefer that the Overall prizes be based on total points for 16 weeks.

in terms of overall championship.. take from the WHOLE pool of teams PERIOD everyone from week 1 till the end and the top scoring teams (get paid) I think Rob, Billy and I ... any many others agree with Mike on this. Total points from week 1 to week 16 for the over all (just like the DC overall should be). As a bonus, you get everyone included in the championship round (even though some won't have a realistic chance to cash in it ... but they are on the totals page!).

Greg, the budget is $200. Oh, man. Can you tell I'm still in baseball mode? Sheesh. Yes, budget in NFFC is $200 and it's $260 in NFBC. Thanks and I've made the corrections above.
When comparing league strength, I think it is tough to go total points for 16 weeks. I know what you are saying with this format, but even in the NFL a 17-0 regular season record doesn't get you anything more than home field advantage. I still like the 13 weeks of league competition and some form of scoring total being carried over to the Championship Round and then a "sprint" if you will to the title. It's like the NFL. Tom and I are still hashing this part out, but all input is valued.
C'mon, let's have a discussion on this today. Get on the NFFC boards all and let's hash this out together and then fill this one up. I LOVE our NFBC Auction Championship right now and I think this can be just as successful. What are your thoughts?

We are taking some league prize money to pay for the overall prizes, but this way a league champ can earn the same amount as last year by winning their league and finishing in the Top 7 overall. Plus they now have a shot at a $10,000 grand prize.
3. I differ on the Championship Round format, though. The sprint has some merit to it. Just my two cents.

the results i.e. never again could you depart a
week empty-handed for 2nd highest point total.
Legitimize H2H by adding more. Trust the probabilities... for the first 13 weeks (only)!!
A 26 game schedule---- with ability to submit two
different lineups, if preferred.
