~Lance
Not paranoia Lance, many of them are spyware - but AdAware is not; it works extremely well and is free. One of the first programs I install on new computers.

Greg, I may be risking a flag too, but ... would it be possible for you to set-up a special section ...... kinda like the smoking section in a restaurant?
Anyone that screams in CAPS or refers to themselves in the third person must do so in the "special" section, where they can hang out together while blowing smoke on/up each other, while the rest of us remain free to live in our clean, happy society where people respect each other and communicate accordingly? FLAAAAGGGGGGG!!! (NOTICE THE ALL CAPS!!!)
I must have thrown the wrong FLAAAAAGGGGGGG initially. FLAG on everyone inside this thread!! 15 yards both ways.
I do agree that for Message Boards to thrive and have usefulness, there is a level of courtesy that members should show to others. And much of that is policed by the people who post themselves. There's nothing wrong with being unique, but as many have stated here that uniqueness can be annoying. I think what folks said originally is that because of some folks' uniqueness, they don't even read any posts submitted by those folks.
I guess that's the only way to deal with a board of unique individuals. Just ignore the posts you don't want anything to do with and move on. Because it's plainly obvious that certain folks aren't changing and responding to that uniqueness only brings out longer, more useless posts that never seem to end. And it's taking up valuable cyberspace that could be used for solving global warming or something else Nobel Peace prize worthy.
Exactly what you envisioned the FF MB to be!!!
This is a FF MB, not a MB to prove one's uniqueness.
Until you address that issue, the MB will never become the vehicle to grow the events to the fullest possible extent.
Pretty soon the only thing you will be dealing with on these boards are these debates, or has that already started the last few days? Not many new topics on FF, just same old BS.

It is a difficult problem, and a delicate balance, no doubt Greg. Do you sit by silently, ignore them, and hope they go away ... or do you try to educate them, to borrow Zola's phrasing, on etiquette, decorum and common courtesy, but therein risk a Marilyn Manson-type revolt of freaks and losers that band together in their "uniqueness", which is really just "annoyingness"?
Society eventually responds to such behavior with laws, rules and regulations. But I have always been a free market guy, and always prefer education and persuasion, hoping to get results of free will. Sadly, that doesn't work in many cases.

The old adage is don't post something on a message board you wouldn't say if the person was standing right in front of you. That's good advice to heed.
We want everyone here to be able to express themselves and have fun and make this an entertaining and informative forum. We simply act that people respect one another and show some common sense and decency. If they fail to do that, that's when Greg or I will step in. We continue to hope we don't have to do that. That's the goal.

I have embraced the uniqueness of my customers so much, that I've treated them to ball games 21 times games over the years.
I'm not mad, nor frowning, nor boiling over in the slightest in any of my posts today.
Not at all off base one bit. KOTRAX relishes in pounding his uniqueness into all of us. You relish talking in the 3rd person.
TK just started a chat that is moving well. But only about 10 of 364 owners are involved. It should be about 50 after 4-5 years. You guys just don't understand that people tire of the BS. So I will digress like they do. Have fun with your board, you've earned it.
You tried to paint a picture of me here, and all you did was to continue to paint your own portrait, which you are very good at.

ANOTHER THING IS THAT I MAY TYPE IN ALL CAPS BECAUSE THAT IS MY THING BUT THE ONE THING I DON'T DO IS TALK ABOUT OTHERS OR HAVE ANYTHING IN MALICE TO SAY ABOUT THEM. NOT SAYING YOU DO EITHER. PEOPLE CAN CHOOSE TO SIMPLY NOT READ THE CAP POST. HOWEVER IF THEY CHOOSE TO IT WILL CONTAIN GOOD CONTENT AND NO "PUT DOWN" ON OTHERS OR THEIR IDEAS.

My Week 6 Vibes
Hey Tom and Greg,
I have to "throw a flag" on myself here and apologize to you but just something to get off my chest. I guess I kinda started this insane thread with my "KOTRAX RULES" sign-off.
Here's the thing. A guy like SNAKE,yes, much of what he posts is incorehent at times, but hey that's him. Don't read him if it rubs you the wrong way. One post of his was on the mark about people being different. They often may not fit into society's definition of "normal", but they have things to offer and quite often have unique gifts.
Kotrax has never posted anything offensive to anyone (unlike the other cowards who hide behind their keyboards). He's different, but his cap typing has no malicious intent. He's actually one of the few polite ones.
Duke, why should this insult you so much? Are you the one who decides who's normal and all normal people only belong in your room? Do you know how that sounds?
The freaks to me are the ones who post on the MB to gain some self-importance and self-worth placing themselves in the hall-of-fame of fantasy football. IT'S FANTASY FOOTBALL! (Sorry for the infringement of your CAPS method Kotrax.)
The most offensive thing I read was the punk (nameless right now) who said something to the effect of " It's like the retarded person who wins a race in the special olympics. He may have won the race but he still looks like he has Down's Syndrome in the end"
You ,my friend, are the handicapped loser. God forbid you reproduce at all, let alone have someone in your family with special needs and then how you feel with those struggles.
As John Lennon sang "Instant Karma's gonna get you"
Once again, apologies to Tom & Greg for the soapbox rant having nothing to do with football. It will not happen again. The NFFC is a class organization from our first year experience
Good luck to all the rest of this year !

Barry, first, it isn't me that decides anything. Certain things are considered offensive to many or most people. Writing in caps in a society that is started from scratch might not be offensive to people, you could say the same thing about porn or anything else. However, in our online society, it IS considered offensive by many people. And thus, knowing this, it can also be appropriately considered rude for someone that doesn't follow it. That doesn't make the guy a mass murderer, just makes him rude.
Let me ask you a question ... if you and a woman are on an elevator, do you let her exit first or do you rush the door? If you exit first is this patently offensive, does anyone get hurt by it? No, but it is considered rude, nonetheless. Why? It is simply etiquette, and if you don't follow etiquette that most people accept, you will likely be viewed as either rude or ignorant.
This has been said before, but I'll say it again. This has nothing to do with being "unique". I see guys on elevators all the time with tatoos, hardward sticking out of their face, you name it, anything you can imagine in terms of their looks and no doubt their personalities too. But 90% of them still do wait for a woman to exit the elevator first. Because it is etiqutte, not an expression of individuality. Same applies here.
