I venture to say he didn't go for under $250 anywhere...but I could be wrong. I bid $71 for him...missed him by $300.

I got him for $23 in one league. I wasn't even trying to get him but for whatever reason..... It was a $750 league so it wasn't like it was a home league.

Did anyone get Torrey Smith for a reasonable amount? Depends. I paid 445 for him in my one and only team in a Championship league. The next highest bid was 339. My starters are decent (Welker, M Williams, Nelson) but my bup wr's were Collie, Benn and Jason Hill so I felt as though I needed a spark. I think he was worth more than Moore because his situation is less filled with players who may take targets from him.

I think there is a chance that Smith holds onto his starting position even when Evans is ready to get back on the field.

I also bid a bit more to ensure that he didn't go to another competitor in my league just in case my thought process is correct. Added: One of the teams I am chasing is 3-0 and owns Evans and I did not want them to get him.

In one of my satellites he went for 165 with runner up bid of 150. V Cruz went for 300.

I'm assuming you were not a T.Smith bidder/winner?

I put his over/under point total at 16 vs. the Jets this week. What do ya think? :D

[/QUOTE]If that were true, then Darrius Heyward-Bey would be a star in this league.

I don't buy it with Smith. It's one game from a rookie who does nothing else well and who didn't earn a start until Evans went down. He'll get shut down by the Jets (I'll take that Under bet big time), then after the bye he'll be either second string or, at best, be in a committee with Evans. Boldin remains #1 here, the TE's remain big targets, and the offense fundamentally runs through Ray Rice.

To spend 30%-70% of your Free Agent money on this type of rookie WR who has one big game as a fill-in against a defense who essentially didn't game plan for him is foolhardy in my opinion, but I'm glad that a lot of people did. ;)

He's got talent, but this year I'm thinking more Frisman Jackson here than Randy Moss.
