Sound familiar?
Favre was fined.
So sending pervy emails you equate with cheating in an NFL game?
There is no direct evidence that Brady cheated. Did he personally deflate the footballs? I don't think anyone is saying that. Did he give his authorization for it to occur? Perhaps but again there is no direct evidence that he did. The NFL is saying that's because Brady destroyed his phone. Brady's agent is now saying otherwise. Again, it's he said vs. he said.
With the Favre case there was direct evidence of pictures that Favre sent. There was more direct evidence of his guilt in that case than what we see now.
But if it's football tampering you wish to discuss by all means let's do that instead. Last season, the Panthers and Vikings were caught ON CAMERA manipulating the temperature of footballs during a game. There was no question as to whether they did it because it was caught on camera during a nationally televised game.
The result?
Both teams were fined.
So you have past precedence of a player refusing to cooperate (in the league's eyes) and not turning his phone over and a precedent of clear indisputable football tampering just last season and in both cases the punishment was a fine.
To think Brady deserves four games now is absurd. I'm sorry but it just is.
And if you think he and Greg Hardy should miss the same number of games I again don't know what to say to you.
