If you were setting your KDS selections today for the 14 and 12 teams, what would you go with. Do you want the first couple of picks so you get one of the top running backs or would you prefer to be at the end of the draft and have a shot at the first three picks. In that case would you go wide receivers and if so who.

I want a top RB so my KDS would be as follows:

1-5

That's how I'd start. I think there are 5 strong RB options (McCoy is right there and I like him but a little less than the Top 5 - Foster, Peterson, CJ, Charles and Rice). So my preference would be to try and get one of those players.

After that, I think there is so much depth at RB that moving to the back and going WR/QB with my first two picks is a very appealing strategy. Plus, having 3RR really gives some additional value to those lower picks. So I'd then go:

13, 14, 12, 11, 10

That would bring my KDS to:
1-5, 13, 14, 12, 11, 10

I think the middle is always safe so I'd conclude my KDS with:

6-9.

So my KDS would be:

1-5, 13, 14, 12, 11, 10, 6-9

Hi Guys,

In the NFBC this year there was a lively debate regarding the use of alias's for early drafting periods. Is this a common practice in the NFFC as well? Also, I'm interested in the live scoring aspect. Will it be the same as the NFBC's current live scoring?

The lions recent injuries are taking away from the early hype. Who knows what's next. But the coach is solid and they will be competitive no matter what.

I've taken Finley in one slow draft to date. It surprises me that he's going so high given the severity of his injury last season. He certainly can't step back in and pick up where he left off, can he?

Thanks for these chats they are quite informative.

Joe, this is a good question and worth an answer. Aliases have been used in the past in our contest because owners want to participate in the early drafts without everyone jumping their picks in future drafts. Without them, some owners feel like they wouldn't get into as many leagues. We've never prevented them because it wasn't an issue before and it allowed owners to compete in more leagues.

But you are right, this became an issue in baseball when folks felt that owners with aliases were able to see who others picked without folks knowing who they picked. To me, I don't see anyone using an alias to "scout" other players' picks, but maybe it is time to fix this once and for all. It's certainly not a situation Tom nor I like being in the middle of, so let's fix it.

Here's how, since the NFFC posts every team owners' name for every league:

1) No longer allow aliases and those owners in multiple leagues have to make those choices, even if it hurts signups.

2) Put ANONYMOUS on the signup list rather than a different name. That way at least the other owners know this is an owner with multiple NFFC teams

3) Continue to allow aliases

Honestly, I'm all for No. 2, but I'm sure the vast majority would like No. 1. I do understand why some owners don't want everyone to know which leagues they are participating in. Just the other night, one owner said he jumped a pick on another owner because he saw who he picked the week before in an online draft. So folks do get scouted and punished for being in multiple leagues. But it's an issue worth discussing and solving now and I'm all for that.

Thanks for these chats they are quite informative. Joe, sorry I didn't reply to your PM last night, but I can answer the live scoring here. Yes, the live scoring is still being done by STATS and like it's done for the NFBC. I know you had problems with Live Scoring in Internet Explorer, but didn't things improve in Firefox or Google Chrome. I haven't heard from many other folks who have had trouble with the NFBC's Live Scoring, but I know this has been an issue with you. The one area that we've struggled in is the 50-round Slow Drafts because the 750 players all within Live Scoring is causing problems. We couldn't solve that in the quick turnaround from Fanball to STATS, but we'll hopefully get that right next year. But I don't see any problems with Live Scoring for the NFFC, although I know you are concerned about it.

One other addition that we'll announce very shortly is a partnership with a new industry company that will provide Live Scoring for your phone. You'll be able to enter your NFFC teams there along with your opponents' each week and get NFFC Live Scoring. Look for that announcement soon. I think that will be good for our players and that company will be in Las Vegas the first weekend to get everyone tested and set up. It should be fun.

I agree, the Lions will be solid. This turnaround is for real.

Finley had a serious knee injury, but he's looking like a beast in practice again, they say. Coaches are actually asking him to ease up a bit because he's so ready to get going again. One interesting point is that some reporters feel the offense has struggled a bit in practice recently because they're trying to work him back in. Remember, Rodgers struggled early as he forced a lot of balls to Finley before finally making Greg Jennings his No. 1 target. They need to feed them all this year and that will take some time to adjust.

[/QUOTE]Thanks for the response Greg. Live scoring is improved once you get outside of explorer. I was not asking in a critical manner, just wondered if it was an area you looked to upgrade. For me this was the only area of baseball that was not vastly improved from the (fanball) season before.

Live scoring for your phone would be an awesome addition.

Two quickies here:

Was there any enhancement for the D/C league scoring system?

Has there been any decision made on how to handle no show owners in either live or on line games?

Okay, Tom and I are here to talk some football. Anyone else in the house to do the same?

Okay, I'm looking at some draft results from a recent NFL.com draft with PPR. I can't believe Fabs didn't invite me back for that one. I won that league a couple of years ago. Anyway, here's the interesting results from the first two rounds.

ROUND ONE

1.1 Adrian Peterson, RB, MIN - ESPN
1.2 Arian Foster, RB, HOU - KFFL
1.3 Chris Johnson, RB, TEN - Sirius XM
1.4 Jamaal Charles, RB, KC - Yahoo
1.5 Darren McFadden, RB, OAK - Sports Illustrated
1.6 Andre Johnson, WR, HOU - Rotowire
1.7 Aaron Rodgers, QB, GB - Barber Boyz
1.8 Ray Rice, RB, BAL - Footballguys
1.9 LeSean McCoy, RB, PHI - NFL.com
1.10 Rashard Mendenhall, RB, PIT - Fantasy Guru
1.11 Calvin Johnson, WR, DET - Rotoexperts
1.12 Michael Vick, QB, PHI - Rotoworld (Evan Silva)

ROUND TWO

2.1 Jahvid Best, RB, DET - Rotoworld (Evan Silva)
2.2 Maurice Jones-Drew, RB, JAC - Rotoexperts
2.3 Roddy White, WR, ATL - Fantasy Guru
2.4 Hakeem Nicks, WR, NYG - NFL.com
2.5 Matt Forte, RB, CHI - Footballguys
2.6 Michael Turner, RB, ATL - Barber Boyz
2.7 Larry Fitzgerald, WR, ARZ - Rotowire
2.8 Frank Gore, RB, SF - Sports Illustrated
2.9 Tom Brady, QB, NEP - Yahoo
2.10 Drew Brees, QB, NO - Sirius XM
2.11 Greg Jennings, WR, GB - KFFL
2.12 Steven Jackson, RB, STL - ESPN

Thoughts? McFadden and Best look pretty damn high to me, don't you think?

Okay, I see the Bears have made it official today by listing Johnny Knox on the second team behind Roy Williams at the X position. I just drafted Knox as my third wideout in the Rotowire.com Mock Draft, not believing that the Bears could actually demote Knox. What am I missing here with this offense? Roy Williams has nothing left, Devin Hester has never proven to be an effective everydown wideout and Knox just catches whatever they throw at him. How did Knox get demoted here?

Okay, I know I'm supposed to be answering the questions, not asking them, but someone help me out. I can't figure this one out.
