NFFC Champions League Draft Order

Post by BillyWaz » Sat Apr 21, 2007 7:02 am

I'm here with the 8th pick, and chose it 4th on my KDS, because I feel like there are 8 RB's I could "live with" (maybe 9). I also like that I got 8th in this draft because there are people out there who feel the middle has a "disadvantage" to the front and the back using 3RR, and as the 2 time defending champ of this event, I am here to prove them wrong. ;) Obviously KDS and 3RR worked for this, and it will prove to help the majority of the owners in the Main, and all other NFFC leagues.

I am liking my options in round 2, and will "roll with it", whether I go with a RB or WR. Round 3 is where I really like the middle picks, as by the end of round 3, there could be a drop off IMO.

As for you RI, if you GET Westbrook (don't be shocked if he is gone by 5!), do you really want to hope he plays in 15 plus games AGAIN?? I would let him slide to about #8. ;) If the guy I want is there, I think he will be VERY solid this year!

A LOT of big hitters" in this one. It should be a lot of fun!

I have TONS of work for school that is due on May 2nd, so if I am drunk that day by 7:00, I will let my daughter draft for me (hope that is all right Greg? ;) )

1,2,3,11,12,13,10,9,8,6,5,4,7,14

I want the Top because I will have 4 players on my team before the end of the draft has their 4.
But...

Think the experienced drafters at the end will have a BIG advantage in RD3.

LT,LJ,SJ then the rest...

I have been out of town for a spell but I was very happy to receive my third choice of 12 in this draft. I believe the value at the end is greater than what would be afforded even by the first pick this year.

I set my prefs at: 14,13,12,1,2,3,4,5,11,10,9,8,7,6 and actually had my first 3 at 12 - 13 - 14 but changed it at the last minute so I really got my first, first choice if that makes sense. (strange that I picked the 6th spot as my least fav now as I won from that spot last year)

Tom's topic on the other thread goes hand in hand how I feel about this coming season. It is a solid discussion about the talent in pool for this season. I will be entering that discussion when I get a tad more time. The emergence of a group of solid RB choices that may last into the 4th round with the kds/3rr has me feeling that 12-14 will be the place to be this year.

I would rather pick late in the 1st/early in 2nd/early in the 3rd and again at the turn in the 5th than what the front end has to offer. To me, the ability to pick at the beginning of the 3rd and 5th rounds was the key for me in selecting the back end of the draft.

I set my 4th pick as #1 just in case three folks ahead of me also wanted to go in the 12-14 range. It could have happened and that is the fun part of this method of giving the players some control over their spots. The addition of the 3RR is going to make this draft the most exciting one ever for fantasy football. We are going to see a greater variety of "methods" used this year while selcting their choices and during the draft.

My toughest decision was where to draw that line from the back end to the front. I had toyed with going 14-10 or 14-11 but felt that the benefit in doing that dropped off after the 12th spot right now and within my "system". In hindsight, I should have gone 14-11 instead of 14-12 this draft but it worked out anyway.

Next Wednesdays draft is going to be a hoot and especially since the NFL draft will have been completed. It will be fun to see where CJ07 goes (maybe 5.3) as well as some of the other young studs who will have a chance to be impact players this year.

Thanks again Greg and Tom for letting us get involved in May.

I agree that this will be a blast!

If CJ07 goes to the right team, he may not be there at 5.03! ;)

I wont lie, I have about 30 minutes of study/prep time for this. I would love to be able to find access to some player list cheat sheets for 2007 that would allow me to easily change them to my liking. I have too much pride to not find some time in the next 2 days to come up with some sort of plan....

I am looking forward to it. It just happens to come at a time I have a ton going on. I will have no problem neglecting my family come Wednesday...lol
