Who's Coming To The 2007 NFFC And Where?

Post by Greg Ambrosius » Thu Mar 29, 2007 4:38 am

Our first official signup for New York of 2007 is none other than Billy Wasosky of Richmond, Virginia, who returns to the Big Apple after a two year absence. Billy competed in New York during our debut season of 2004, but then went to the Windy City the last two years. His magical mystery tour is headed to New York this year as he's currently signed up for the NFFC's main event, the $650 Auction League and the $650 Draft Champions League. Last year, B-Wazz led his BillwayWaz Beasts team to a second place finish in Chicago League 2 and $2,500 as it finished 8-5, while finishing 13th overall with 1,784.95 points. The Beasts then finished 14th overall in the Championship Round with 553.46 points. Bill also led his Draft Champions League to a title as it won the Chicago $650 DC league with 2,675.35 points. Great job Billy last year and best of luck this year in the hunt for the $100,000 grand prize, the $5,000 league prize, the $4,250 Draft Champions League prize and the $4,000+ in auction league prizes.

Who's Coming To The 2007 NFFC And Where?

Next up for New York is our Lifetime Standings leader, Glenn Schroter of Whitestone, New York. Glenn is currently signed up for the NFFC's main event at the New York Hilton on Saturday, Sept. 1st and for the Ultimate League on Sunday, Sept. 2nd. After three years of competition, Glenn leads our Lifetime Standings in the main event as his teams have averaged more than 130 points per week. Last year his Svengali team finished 7-6 in New York League 7 of the main event, placing 67th overall with 1,656.85 points. His Svengali team won the regular season title and $5,000 in the Ultimate League as it tied an NFFC record with a 12-1 mark. Svengali added another $7,500 in the consolation round after losing a first round playoff game. Glenn's King of Queens teams finished out of the money in the New York Draft Champions League and the New York Auction League, but I trust he will be back for more of each league soon enough! ;) As always, it's good to have you back Glenn and we wish you best of luck in the hunt for the $100,000 grand prize, $5,000 league prize and the $37,500 Ultimate League prize.

It's good to welcome back Jack Haan of Palos Heights, Illinois to the NFFC's main event as he is scheduled to compete again at the Oakbrook Marriott in Chicago on Saturday, Sept. 1st. Jack earned another free entry this year as he won the Aug. 23rd winner-take-all satellite league last year. He also earned a free entry in the NFBC's main event this year after winning a satellite league last year. (I think I'm losing money on you Jack!! :D ). Jack competed in the NFFC's main event for the first time last year and led his Leroy Is Beautiful team to a third place finish and $500 in Chicago League 5 with a 9-4 record, placing 44th overall with 1,696.25 points. In the Consolation Round, Leroy Is Beautiful finished 44th overall with 635.04 points. Welcome back once again Jack and best of luck in the hunt for this year's $100,000 grand prize and $5,000 league prize.

Okay, let's get back to the welcome wagon. Today we welcome another returning NFFC member to the event as Scott Stauffer of Naperville, Illinois will be joining us in the Windy City for the fourth straight year. Scott is jumping in with full force this year as he has entered the NFFC Quadfecta: The $1300 Draft Champions League and the $1300 Auction League on Friday, Aug. 31st, the main event on Saturday, Sept. 1st and the Ultimate Draft League on Sunday, Sept. 2nd. Scott finished second overall in the main event in 2005 and last year he also made it to the Championship Round, winning Chicago League 5 and $5,000 with a 10-3 record. Scott led his OUT OF THE SHADOWS team to a 68th place overall finish with 1,656.10 points and his team added 451.55 points in the Championship Round. Great job once again Scott. His OUT OF THE SHADOWS teams didn't fare as well in the Auction League (7-6, missed the playoffs with 1,492.3 points) or the Draft Champions League (12th, 2,106.6 points), but Scott is ready to battle in both of those events again this year. Welcome back Scott and best of luck once again in the hunt for the $100,000 grand prize, the $5,000 league prize, the $37,500 Ultimate League prize, the $8,500 Draft Champions League prize and the $8,000+ in Auction League prizes.

Jeff Edwards and Mervyn Braude of Scottsdale, Arizona joined the NFFC for the first time last year and walked away with a league title and $5,000. They led their Runitup team to a first place finish in Las Vegas League 3 with a 10-3 record, placing 29th overall with 1,736.80 points. Runitup struggled in the Championship Round (461.45 points), but Jeff and Mervyn had so much fun that they immediately signed up for 2007. They competed in our baseball event in March and will be back for football at the Flamingo in Las Vegas on Saturday, Sept. 1st. Great job last year guys and best of luck this year in the hunt for the $100,000 grand prize and the $5,000 league prize.

Even though she's too busy right now working on Quentin Taratino's "Grindhouse" movie, we're glad to welcome back Jules McLean of Los Angeles, California to the 2007 NFFC. Jules was one of our most dominant owners in 2006 as she led her Pimpin Trigger Jr. team to the overall regular season title with 2,126.05 points, 238 points more than any other team in the main event. It was a dominating performance that earned her $5,000, a free entry into the 2007 NFFC event and the title in Las Vegas League 2 as Pimpin Trigger Jr. finished 10-3. Injuries hurt her team in the Championship Round, but Jules still fiinshed 30th overall with 503.7 points. Jules also won a free entry in a $100 Satellite League and won the 3-City Challenge. Her Las Vegas Draft Champions team also finished fifth with 2,462.5 points and her LV Auction League team finished 5-8 with 1,400.7 points. Great job last year Jules and best of luck this year. Jules will be back in Las Vegas for the NFFC Quadfecta as she has entered the $650 Auction League, $1,300 Draft Champions League, the main event and the Ultimate Draft League. Good luck Jules in the hunt for the $100,000 grand prize, the $5,000 league prize, the $37,500 Ultimate League prize, the $8,500 Draft Champions League prize and the $4,000+ in Auction League prizes.

We're glad to welcome back another original member of the NFFC family to the 2007 event as Robert Jurney of Dunkirk, Maryland will be returning to the Chicago Oakbrook Marriott on Friday, Aug. 31st for the $650 Auction League and again on Saturday, Sept. 1st for the main event. Robert just missed out last year on some big money as his Team Jurney team won $650 in the Chicago Auction League as it finished the regular season with the most total points (1,723.3), while finishing 8-5, but lost both of its playoff games after a first round bye. His Team Dabigu also finished 8-5 in Chicago 3 of the main event -- one game out of first place -- while finishing fourth in the league with 1,630.8 points. Robert is currently competing in several of our NFBC leagues, but he will turn his attention to football soon enough. Welcome back Robert and best of luck this year in the hunt for the $100,000 grand prize, the $5,000 league prize and teh $4,000+ in Auction League prizes.
