Tom, if CJ, AP, MJD, RR are gone, is AJ your obvious pick At 5 in a 14 team format? It's either Gore or AJ there for me, Bill. It would depend on if I believed I could get a solid RB1 in the second. If I could get someone like Thomas, Wells (who I really like a lot this season), Grant, Benson or Greene in the second then I'd go with AJ. I think that's likely to happen so my initial thought is I'd take AJ. But if the ADPs start to shift and more RBs are going in the second, I may elect to go with Gore and then hope to get someone like Jennings, Colston, DeSean Jackson, Boldin or one of the Steve Smiths in the second.

I'm assuming there's a tier after Rice, and then another after Gore. Do you have another mini-tier amongst the players in that first round?

...TK, WHY do you think that Ryan Matthews deserves THAT much love to be drafted in the 1st Round when he's yet to even prove his mettle on an NFL gridiron as of yet?...GK 1. Talent
2. Opportunity

I think he's a fine talent. He's also in an offense that, despite some issues, has a lot of potential. I don't see the Chargers dropping off considerably even if McNeil and Jackson aren't there. I think Rivers is an exceptional talent, I like their WRs and Gates is a stud. I think they have enough talent to afford Mathews the opportunity to do well.

2. He has zero competition for meaningful touches. Sproles is a third-down guy, not a threat to start or get double-digit carries each week. Mathews will get the rock a ton.

Combine those two factors and I think he has Top 10 potential this season.

For what it's worth I also like Thomas, Wells, Benson and Grant quite a bit as well. I'd be happy to get any of them as my RB1 this season.

TOM , i think sproles will get more touches than you think. even if he is as good as they say then they would want to keep him fresh come playoff time.

Sproles only had double-digit carries in two games last season and both of those games came in the opening three weeks. And that was despite the fact LT looked old and washed up. I think Mathews is a better RB than LT and therefore I don't see Sproles being more involved than he was last season.

Tom, I'm not one to typically grab a QB too early. However, in this format you have to think about it. What's the earliest you would grab a QB this year in this format?

Also, who's the last QB you would feel comfortable going in with as your everyday starter? Give me a couple in the same tier.

Thanks,
Glenn
