Six Teams On Byes This Week
This week AND next should be VERY interesting, as many teams will be dropping "decent" players so that they can cover their bye week players.

As of right now (before possible FA moves), these "players" will be cracking my starting lineup this week -

Yes, six more teams are on byes next week and then we go back to four-team byes through Week 9. As someone said earlier this year, teams that manage the bye weeks successfully will be on top at the end of the year. It certainly makes an 18-man roster tougher this year, that's for sure.

I don't think the byes should make you alter your drafting strategy, within reason of course. By this I mean if there's a player sitting there that you have rated higher than the rest, you shouldn't pass him by for having the same bye-week as some of your previously drafted players. I would rather take my lumps for one week and have a stronger/more consistent team for the other weeks. Besides, with proper foresight in advanced FA planning, you should be able to slip in a few reasonable replacements for one week.
Just one man's opinion.

You guys think the NFL suits did this 6-team BYE - partially due to knowing this is the two weeks (Week 6 & 7) where Baseball playoffs steal some fans - and - hey - "why not play it safe by resting a majority of teams when another pastime is scoring big Neilsen ratings"?
Just thinking outside the pigskin....

Just thinking outside the pigskin.... Nope .... close ... it's all about the TV contract!
The Network wanted the maximum # of teams to choose from when deciding on the Sunday night game week 10 ... They wanted the bye's over with and the NFL basicly said "what's it worth to you?". Money talks.

True, true UYT, but I believe the baseball ratings may also be a determining factor in this thing as well...
...or, maybe the NFL was tired of "unprepared" fantasy owners finishing in high-postions and are doing this to reward the dilligent gamers.
