Would You Consider Kentucky Derby Style In 2006?

Snake - I'm actually rooting for you to stay in it and make the playoffs. You have had the coconuts (without wavering) all year to talk up your team. I'm glad you're not backing down after only one bad week.

Go back and look at some of the first posts made after the draft. There were alot of clowns spewing their adolescent, giggling arrogance over what great teams they had. I won't call anyone out - you can read them for yourself. Where are those bozo's now? They always disappear as soon as their putrid teams are revealed for what they really are.

Keep talking snakie, just like Gordo last year, you just might talk all the way to the bank.

I agree RC, but the majority of Snake's predictions/comments fall in the "water cooler idiot" classification.

Making predictions like "Stallworth and Horn are the this year's Harrison and Wayne", and "Joe Horn will outproduce Steve Smith the rest of the way" is comparable to the guy at work who knows NOTHING about football and says, "I think the Texans are going to beat the Colts!" (when the Colts are favored by 20 points.

If the Texans win, he looks like a genius, but WHEN they lose, people just say "that guy doesn't know $hit!".

Plus, Snake's whole "charisma" has changed. He said he had an epiphany, but his being rude and pissing people off was part of his makeup. Now he is all soft spoken, and his team is going in the dumper.

I like it as a change in baseball, but it doesn't do anything for me in football. I have been in several "owner picks draft spot" drafts and I have never seen the draft order exactly mimick the random order of selection. :Anecdote: [/QUOTE]Were these live? It would be different then.

Tomlinson, LaDainian (SD) 902 14 0 31 286 2 0 0 1 249.6 24.9
Alexander, Shaun (SEA) 1229 19 0 9 48 0 0 0 0 246.2 24.6
James, Edgerrin (IND) 1116 11 0 28 225 1 0 0 1 219.1 21.9
Johnson, Larry (KC) 849 8 0 15 167 0 0 0 2 155.1 15.5
Priest Holmes 451 6 0 21 197 1 0 0 0 117.3 16.

Larry Johnson weeks:24.6 10.1 0.3 2.4 0 6 18.4 9.8 29 20.3 34.2

Priest Holmes weeks:15.5 16.5 10.8 19.3 0 26.3 22.1 6.8

Can we agree that everyone in this league will list these players as the top 4 picks next year?
(I'm combining Priest Holmes and Larry Johnson stats....Larry Johnson will be a top 4 pick)

So 100 percent of the players would like to start from these spots. Now when you are making your list, you have to list everyone in order. At what point is someone going to make a play to drop down in the draft: 9th, 11th...who knows, but you won't know at the time what your choices are. Would you take 14 over the 6th spot? Or would you only take it over the 12th and 13th? Say the 14 pick is your 7 choice, for some reason someone takes that pick before you. Now your pick list goes like this: 1,2,3,4,5,6,14,7,8,13,12,11,10,9. Your real choice is between 13 and 9. Would your list be the same if you knew? What if your choice was between 10 and 9, would you really give up the chance for that choice of players? I'm not sure. I think most people will list them in order. Some might move one spot.

CC, sorry but disagree with you big time. A lot of people like myself would rather have picks close together, opposed to far apart.

If I am not picking from the first 1-3 slots, I would prefer to be picking near the bottom so I can have my picks close together.

IMO, especially this year, picks 4/5 through 12/14 were all about the same.

So again, a lot of people will not prefer in order 1,2,3,4,5, etc....

And even if they did choose their preferred slots that way with only a couple people wavering from the 1,2,3, it is still better than random.

I see the votes so far seem to be in favor of this.....

So I ask those opposed to the Derby, Can you please tell me why you do not like it??

Just curious..
FAITH IS NOT BELIEVING THAT GOD CAN....
IT IS KNOWING THAT HE WILL
