Wasn't directed toward you at all frankly. I enjoy your posts and like to read them...appreciate the participation.

And besides I always stop to talk to homeless guys ;)

Draft Secret Revealed!!!

Sorry Duke, wasn't trying to slam, but it was common knowledge (or so I thought) that Bettis would get the goal line carries, that is why I (and many others) lowered his draft value. I did draft him in the mid season league, but it was at a point where drafting him wasn't a bad idea. But as it stands, Duce is #20 on the RB scale which is close to where I had him ranked before the season started.

But my point was that picking your own draft position wouldn't neccessarily help your team out better than random draws. Everyone has different values and injuries always occurs. Sorry man. Don't worry Vegas, I'm not easily offended. Really, I'm only offended by people that don't make sense, and that's not you.

As for Bettis, I understood that he could get short yardage and end up with a few TDs. What I didn't know was that every Steeler drive would stall precisely at the 1 yd line.

Where I felt I had the edge in drafting Duce higher was that many people believed that it would be somewhat of a RBBC, which I didn't think would happen. I also thought the PIT offense would be a force on the ground, which is looking very reasonable.

My RB options at that slot, per consensus opinion, included Fred Taylor, Domanick Davis, Barlow, Rudi Johnson and Faulk. Among that group, even now, I still like my pick. Barlow and Faulk have performed better so far, but I'll take Duce to beat them for the yr.

Not drafting Culpepper at early #2 was my downfall. Thought I could get a decent QB much later and didn't want the shortage at RB or WR . I'll pay for that lesson this year.

Don't worry, Culpepper will come back down to earth (I hope ). I took the same postion with QBs, but when Bulger was there in the 6th, I had to jump on him even though I don't like him (but I'm coming around )

I know what you mean about Bettis and the Steelers, I find it amazing that Duce isn't saying that he should get at least one try at the end zone since he took them down there.

Vegas and KJ,

You gotta think that the Culpepper express will slow at some point; it almost seems unnatural.

Moss's hammy is scaring the hell out of me...hopefully Culpepper has at least one stude week left. Good points by both of you...enjoyed the discussion.

Gstar, I have said many times the Culpepper will slow down (if not, we are loooking at history). Moss may play a bit Sunday, I feel sorry for his owners ... not

G, I drafted him in the mid-league based on him scoring +5 ppg over the #2 QB for the rest of the season. I still think that looks good, but if Moss goes down for a while it could be a challenge rather than a slam dunk.

Gordon, you pointed out the obvious. You make it seem like nobody knew about the statgy. Yet, you make osme big announcement about it.

As far as my postings, it seems people are making excuses for thier teams progress so far. I see several people saying, "If the system was setup like this" or "If we did that". I find it kind of funny. It would be refreshing to see "I made a mistake" or "I guess I choose the wrong guy there" or "I guess my prediction for this player was off". But that will never happen, it seems most of the egos around here can't accept that they may not have been the smartest of draft day or that they were a bit off.

I've made quite a few mistakes and my predictions for some players were way off. Jamal Lewis and Rudi Johnson for starters, followed up by the "other" Moss and Rod Smith. Just wanted to let you know that EVERYONE is not the person that you described. High-stakes fantasy novice here, and I WILL do better next year. I'll try to start off with AK suited. Good luck and go get 'em. ;)

Now Primo is a stand up guy. I made my mistakes with Coles and Rod Smith, I had better options (now that I see the first 6 weeks). Bit at the time, I thought I did well with them.
