Greg, big difference between friends being in the same league, or the same person owning two teams.

And yes, they've been accused of bad things. I've accused the owner of being a moron. And then I changed the accusation to possible collusion.

Whether MSW was really their 1st, 2nd or 3rd choice to drop is irrelevant. 1st, 2nd or 3rd it's still a moronic move. You don't drop your healthy #4-5 pick after one week, unless you're stupid or up to attempting collusion.

If I were in charge, I'd have removed MSW from the pool.

But I'm not going to lose any sleep over it. I still love ya, Greg.

I'm sure that the people in that league will be watching carefully when the wife plays the hubby.

My only regret is that Greg didn't bring in Lt Colombo. He would have set up a sting. He would have left MSW in the FA pool, and then wait and see how much the other hubby/wife team bid on him. If they bid a huge amount, we'd know it was setup from the beginning. If they didn't bid, they'd be proven innocent. Too late now, though.

FWIW, people are always going to be concerned when there's two or more family members in the same league. even MORE concerned in higher stakes leagues. there are enough eyes and ears out there to make sure everything is done above board. just let it play out and the "powers that be" will take care of it.

Maybe in the future we can have these discussions in a healthier way because they really do add to the contest IMO Agree 100%

Although my first impression was to allow the drop, I realize that I don't have all the facts and I'm convinced that Greg and Tom looked this over very carefully before rendering their decision. We should all trust the process and respect the decision.

I also agree that I like a healthy, respectful discussion and debate. Maybe we can have more of those in the future, Jeff.

The "possible" collusion was prevented, which was the ultimate goal of sending this inquiry to the league officials.

Old School, of course we don't believe the guy for one second, even a millisecond honestly, but without proof, its hard to take more action than Tom and Greg already have. I feel the decision was very much in the category of appropriate choices.

Due to the special nature of this drop, I advise players to not spend any time worrying about it setting a precedent in general. Its not the typical situation by any means, such as when an owner owns 4 awesome QBs by luck but simply has no need for 4.

Thanks Greg and Tom for making an appropriate decision based on all info.

One more little tidbit and one I cannot shake,

Normally when someone makes a mistake of that magnitude they immediately let it be known that an error was made and they would like help asap.

In this case it appears that they saw what happened and did not care until Greg contacted them.

This leads me to believe that they knew what they were doing and should not have received the player back on their roster.

I would like to know if they sought this change. If they did, then I was way off base and I apologize.

If not, then they should have lost MSW and he should have been pulled from the pool because of his ADP as stated by Greg in his decision.

Silver and Black has just restated what I said before. This was NOT a mistake. They intended to drop MSW (as well as to drop Hardesty).

Whether they did that because they were foolish, or because they hoped their other team would be able to pick him up next week, we do not know.

Therefore, if it were me, I would not have given them MSW back. I would just remove him from the pool.
