My first thought was that I shouldn't (see above) but now that every team has had there bye, it might be OK and I will update it later this year anyway.
Agreed Ted, once you get thru the bye weeks I think data can be looked. You could also argue that 9 weeks of data is actually more relevant than 13 because injuries and the w/wire likely play a larger role as the season goes on.

understood on analyzing the top 4 only data, if it would easy I would've done it already.

ok rob.

if you have time: let's see what ALL (2004, 2005, 2006 - through week 9) the data looks like.

if you could also do just 2005 and 2006 (through week 9), i would appreciate it. Year 1 holds very little weight IMO

That is not a fair allocation of draft slots. OF COURSE IT'S FAIR!! LET OWNERS DECIDE HOW THEY WANT TO SPEND THEIR MONEY OR POINTS.

here's your reasoning applied to free agents...with weekly free agent pickups, if an owner feels that he can never bid more than $1 on any single player, he will never get the "must have" free agent of the week. Never.

under your umbrella john, that is not a fair allocation of free agents.

Owens/Wayne went early third.

Portis/Westbrook went late first.

It was an example from a league.

It's not about the exact players. It's about the players that go to LT and LJ to start Rd 3 that would go to picks 13 and 14 now.

That makes LT and LJ less valuable.

It's the picks at the start of rd 3 and 5 that make the #1 pick more valuable. The strategies using the wrap when you already have LT or LJ are much easier to form a better team from.

Take away that first wrap away from first pick owners and these owners have the same thought process at the end of 3/4 that those at the end of rd 1 now have, take what's left and pray.

No more LT and two stud WR's. No more LT and stud WR and RB that falls into ones lap.

LT, stud WR and whatever falls to you making that pick much, much harder to plan and mock from, JUST LIKE THE OTHER PICKS.
I think he's talking about 1st/3rd round combos.

Using 2006 ADP data:

Picks 1, 28, 29, 56
LJ, Owens, Wayne, Evans

Picks 14, 15, 42, 43
Parker, Manning, S.Moss, T.Jones

So with 3RR, it becomes:

Picks 1, 28, 42, 43
LJ, Owens, S.Moss, T.Jones

Picks 14, 15, 29, 56
Parker, Manning, Wayne, Evans

I think I'd still rather have the 1st pick!

Nice example UFS and KING TO SHOW PEOPLE HOW IT EFFECTS the draft.I think it really evens it out.
Getting a Reggie WAYNE FROM team 14 with his 3rd pick makes the last pick much nicer.I think more people would like this, if they knew about it.
I too like BBDS , but it's not going to happen, this evens the field much more than the way it is now.
Look at the pimpin trigger , she got LJ, then came back with , WAYNE and K JONES, what would she do now , take the running back , or go stud wide out.Thats a tough choice, she might have to go running back , because whats there at 43 or 44.
IT would have made a big difference in her team.
