BOTTOM LINE... It really doesn't matter where you draft from if your good! I'm sure Gekko will find a way to disprove Z's statement and your statement in one shot.
It's really become quite comical with this guy, especially since he won. Sort of like that part in the movie "Private Parts" when the radio station manager is reading why people who don't like Howard Stern continue listening to him, the most common answer: I'd want to hear what he says next. I kinda feel like that when I come these boards.

Gekko is really no different than many other people I know... they like to have built in excuses in case things don't go there way.
A little tip about excuses (maybe you have heard it?)....

Who's Coming To The 2005 NFFC?
Here's some draft stats I found in 2002 WCOFF, compliments of The Fall Guys. Gekko is right so far in that earlier picks seem to have an advantage.
------forward--------
The following is an update to some information that I provided in an earlier post dealing with draft picks and success in the WCOFF.
The 1st column is the draft pick
The 2nd column is the average points
The 3rd column is the number of teams in the top 100
The 4th column is the number of teams that have over 1100 points
The 5th column is the number of teams that have over 1000 points
The 6th column is the number of teams that have under 800 points
The 7th column is the number of teams that are 7-0
The 8th column is the number of teams that are 0-7
1 … 970.20 … 14 … 0 … 19 … 0 … 1 … 0
5 … 942.20 … 11 … 1 … 14 … 3 … 0 … 0
6 … 937.03 … 11 … 2 … 16 … 3 … 4 … 0

Stats from 2003 will totally kill Gekko's argument, not that I ever believed he had one. J.Lewis, A. Green and Moss were all late 1st/early2nd round picks and had HUGE years and were on majority of winning teams. The consensus top 5 that year were Priest, LT2, Ricky Williams, Portis and Faulk, not necessarily in that order. LT was huge but Priest got hurt towards the end of the season and so was Portis at some point, even though he finished strong. Deuce and SA also had big years but they were 6-8 picks.

I believe you are right Nag, that particular year favored the middle-to-late rounds. I'll let Gekko look up official stats though.

- Bidding on draft position
- Adding an extra player during the playoffs
"Trust in Gekko"? Evidently the fine people running this thing aren't drinking your Kool-Aid!
You making excuses about your draft position is the TRUEST thing I know!

SORRY NAG, YOU ARE WRONG. YOU SHOULD REALLY DO THE RESEARCH BEFORE MAKING A CLAIM LIKE THAT. I will post later today. 2003 WCOFF playoff teams still favored drafting earlier than the mean. Score another for Gekko. Heck, I'm not even involved in that contest anymore, but I know how to do the research.
