You know how you see position runs in Draft Champions Leagues? Well, listen to this one. In our 3-City DC tonight, we had 22 straight kickers picked in Rounds 18 and 19. Now that's a real KICKER RUN!!!

I have to believe that's a new record for one position. Wild.

Another amazing run was in last year's GridIron League. There was a run of 45 straight picks that were either K or DEF!

Then there was a RB taken and then 10 more K or DEF.

That was 55 of 56 picks that were either K or DEF!

The runs went from pick 13.13 through pick 17.1 and then 17.3 to 17.12.

The longest run of either position was just 10.

Some interesting strategies last night. East coast guys were targeting players like Jaron Brown very early. :D West coast guys feel like it's okay to have Levine Toilolo as their TE1. Another East Coast team is led by Pierre Thomas and Darren Sproles as their starting RB's. But at the end of the day, it was clearly the Midwestern teams that led the way. Actually we were the only "true" region. All of us are true midwesterners and we didn't have to go elsewhere to try to fill our team. But enough said about that.

From the 8th -

Tony Romo
Russell Wilson
Matt Schaub

(Plenty at QB to win this.

Arian Foster/Andre Brown
Andre Ellington
Joique Bell/Theo Riddick
Dexter McCluster

Backed up 2 key RB's, Ellington is poised for a huge year and McCluster is a very nice Wildcard.

Dez Bryant
Michael Floyd
Torrey Smith
Kenny Stills
Justin Hunter
Doug Baldwin
Kenny Britt/Chris Givens
Jerrel Jernigan
Brandon Gibson

Very nice set of WR's here. Great guys for this format. As Rich pointed out, I was very fortunate in getting the draft sharks breakout player of the year in this group of wideouts.

Greg Olsen
Coby Fleener
Zach Sudfeld/Jace Amaro
Tim Wright

NIce depth at TE without having to invest but one early pick. It may not be the clan that Rich has, but at least this group will score points......

ARI/NO/WAS

Rould/Janikowski/Barth

This team has a chance. Even with the crazy talent in last nights draft. Seriously though, it's hard to get much differntiation in this group. Lots of teams could win. (Most of those are midwestern teams) But you never know. An injury here and there, and you could even see an eastern team win this.

I woke up 3 hours earlier to embrace my new "west coast roots" and plan to go surfing today and eat white pizza and sushi!:P
When drafting with this group, not much falls, but I still am happy with this team and my "west coast brethren".

From the #6

QB- Andrew Luck
Eli Manning
Geno Smith

Happy with this group, and not worried about the dog killer getting on the field for more than a game or two.

RB- Shane Vereen
Rashad Jennings
Frank Gore
Jeremy Hill
James White
Donald Brown
Joseph Randle

Not as flashy as most teams, but I think will be productive for what I need. Vereen/White will be solid, David Wilson is DONE and Coughlin doesn't like rookies, and Gore and Hill could be workhorses for their teams. Donald Brown is an injury to Mathews (I know....it is a stretch! ), from being a weekly fantasy starter.

WR- DeMaryius Thomas
Antonio Brown
Larry Fitzgerald
Jordan Mathews
Marquis Lee
Robert Woods
Jerricho Cotchery
John Brown
Kris Durham
Ted Ginn

My top 3 are gonna lead this team. Then I got a couple rookies who could both contribute (when Maclin goes down, and Cecil pulls something else), Bob Woods, the #1 WR in Carolina, and the John Brown/Ted Ginn combo to have 3/4 of the Arizona WR's. I really wanted John's 1/2 brother, Juron, but KJ beat me to him.......only to cut him later in the draft (wish we had a waiver wire)

TE- Martellus Bennett
Zach Ertz
Brent Celek
Gavin Escobar

Very happy with this group. The "black unicorn" is solid, and getting Ertz when I did was a steal.....and to get Celek with him.....WOOT WOOT!!!!

K- Adam Vinatieri
Randy Bullock
Cairos Santos

We needed Mike's cousin on the team. :D

D- Houston
Buffalo
Minnesota

Not elite, but I got 3.

The only real question I have is will the WEST take the 4 top spots? After looking it all over, I think it is very possible. ;)

In a normal 12 team league the average person has a 8.3% chance in ending up in 1st place. But in this league with the elite fantasy football players in the world, I would say I have a 2% chance at winning this league. What was great about this draft was that all the players went close to where I projected them. My draft plan went flawless up to round 15. I was able to draft one of the 3 guys I wanted in every round until defenses and kickers went off the board, then things fell apart. This being a team draft the east coast forced the Tights ends to come off the board earlier than everybody expected. Also knowing that I did not have a great chance at winning this league I grabbed 2 TEs early knowing my teammates already had their TEs locked down. Late in the draft I stole McCoys/Ellingtons backups from the other teams instead of making my draft stronger. I decided before the draft that my best chance at winning this draft was to throw a bomb and draft Josh Gordon/Andrew Hawkins in rd 12/13.

Small victories are important also....at least you'll have this to "brag" about. (along with the thanks for participating ribbon)
