"Trust in Gekko"? Evidently the fine people running this thing aren't drinking your Kool-Aid!
You making excuses about your draft position is the TRUEST thing I know! one of the resons they are getting shot down is because greg doesn't want to make it too complicated for all the sheep out there. maybe he doesn't have a lot of faith that people (like you?) can figure out how to make bids on draft slots?
weren't you the guy who said (after the NFFC draft) that you thought i'd have better WR on my team and basically laughed at it? that was a good one. also, do you remember the "you are on an island thread". i can find that if necessary.

Who's Coming To The 2005 NFFC?
It's a relief to finally get this thread back on subject. I'm glad to welcome back a fellow Cheesehead to the growing NFFC family as Bill Opiola of Stevens Point, Wisconsin will be returning to the Chicago Oakbrook Marriott on Saturday, Sept. 3rd. Bill becomes the 58th team from 2004 to sign up for the 2005 main event as we now have 72 signups, including 18 in Chicago. The GilBillys+ team finished 5-8 in Chicago League 2 last year and finished 141st overall with 1,539.1 points. But Bill and partner Gil Moskie had so much fun that they are returning in 2005 with separate teams and new partners. Thanks guys and best of luck in the hunt for the $100,000 grand prize and the $5,000 league prize.

Who's Coming To The 2005 NFFC?
You know how I hate breakups, but when they result in new teams for the NFFC I love them! Let's officially welcome Gil Moskie of Stevens Point, Wisconsin, who also signed up today for a team in the NFFC main event. Gil, Billy and two others from our area will be drafting at the Chicago Oakbrook Marriott on Saturday, Sept. 3rd and making a weekend out of it. We now have 19 teams in Chicago and 73 overall, so keep it going! Thanks Gil for your trust and support once again and best of luck to you guys in the hunt for the $100,000 grand prize and the $5,000 league prize. Oh, and spread the word up here and keep those Cheeseheads coming to the NFFC!

[/QUOTE]Hey I make mistakes Gekko, and I'm not the one who thinks I walk on water. The funny part is that your "theory" on drafting up at the top holds ZERO water, so don't waste your time "adjusting" the stats to your favor. Two fantasy seasons ago those who took Jamal Lewis and Ahman Green (and you could have had both with an 8+ pick would have stomped anyone at the top.
BOTTOM LINE: (like Z-men said I believe) SOME years, it is an advantage and some years it is not.
Let me guess, this year you will get like the #3, and say it is better to draft from the back?
Kudos to you winning, but you are a walking billboard of excuses Gekko!
Sorry to put this here Greg, it won't happen again.

Who's Coming To The 2005 NFFC?
Let's keep the signups coming as we're working on our sixth league for the main event and it's only May 3rd. I like the direction we're headed. Let's give it up for Lee Pollak of Pikesville, Maryland, who will be drafting live at the Palace Station in Las Vegas on Saturday, Sept. 3rd. This is the first time that Lee is a principal owner in our high-stakes event, but he has been involved in the past with our events as a co-manager. Glad to see you jumping in on your own Lee and I'll reward you with the first beer in Las Vegas! Thanks for your trust and support, Lee, and best of luck in the hunt for the $100,000 grand prize and the $5,000 league prize.

Who's Coming To The 2005 NFFC?
Bill Wasosky of Richmond, Virginia is already signed up to compete in the NFFC's main event in Chicago on Saturday, Sept. 3rd, but he's more than doubled his pleasure this weekend by signing up for the NFFC Auction League and the NFFC Draft Champions League. Bill's Skillz That Thrillz New York Auction team finished 9-4 last year and qualified for the playoffs by scoring 1,662.95 points, but lost in the first round of the playoffs to finish out of the money. But Bill liked the format so much he's going to do it again in Chicago. We now have seven signups for that auction league in Chicago and should easily fill up one auction league there. Bill is also going to try the Draft Champions League for the first time this year in Chicago, where we now have five signups for that league. Thanks for your trust and support again, Bill, and best of luck in the hunt for the $4,000 Auction League prize and the $4,250 Draft Champions prize.

Bill, sorry we couldn't get you to play in N.Y. again this year, but at least you're signed up again...Make sure you wear that lucky Lawrence Phillips jersey again! And I guarantee you that you'll love the DraftChampions...I'm not one for an accumulative format, but this is PERFECT for all those who think they can draft better than most and feel like they usually get the short end of the stick by benching the wrong players each week. Good Luck!

Who's Coming To The 2005 NFFC?
We're going to fill up our first auction league of the season shortly as interest in the Las Vegas Auction League continues. Let's welcome back Kevin Dukesherer of San Diego, California to our Las Vegas Auction League as he becomes the 11th official signup for that league, which will be hosted on Friday, Sept. 2nd at the Excalibur Hotel & Casino. Kevin's Zefurs team finished 5-8 last year with 1,581.75 points, just missing the playoffs. Kevin also signed up for the NFFC's main event last year and likely will add that to his shopping cart at a later date. But he wanted to make sure he was getting a spot in this auction league before it filled up. Thanks Kevin for your undying trust and support as you have been in almost every contest we've offered over the past two years. Oh, and best of luck in the hunt for the $4,000 in prizes in this auction league.

Who's Coming To The 2005 NFFC?
Okay, it's a pleasure to welcome back a good friend to the NFFC as John and I go back 15 years together. Let's give it up for our 60th returning member from 2004's main event as John Zaleski of Mission Viejo, California is returning to compete in all three events this year in Las Vegas. John is the owner and founder of Ultimate Fantasy Sports, one of our promotional partners and the leader in lifetime leagues. Check out his contest if you're interested in keeper leagues as this is as good as it gets. Anyway, John is returning to the main event at the Palace Station Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas on Saturday, Sept. 3rd. Last year, his LV2 UFS team finished 7-6 with 1,679.4 points, earning third place money in his league and finishing 60th overall. He also finished 39th in the Consolation Round with 544.29 points.
John's Ultimate Fantasy Sports Auction League team finished 6-7 and in second place in the Kessenich Division last year, but fell out of the playoffs with only 1,414.95 points. He's returning to the Las Vegas Auction League at the Excalibur Hotel & Casino on Friday, Sept. 2nd and will also be competing in the Draft Champions League that day. Thanks for all your trust and support, John, and best of luck in the hunt for the $100,000 grand prize, $5,000 league prize, $4,000 Auction League prize and $4,250 Draft Champions League prize. As you know, first beer is on me -- both days!
