My partner is from Metairie and has been back there for quite a while doing business. Some got lucky, some didn't but I was down in Kenner last weekend and the trailer city there north of I-10 is still hard for me to look at.

Post by Greg Ambrosius » Thu Jun 22, 2006 5:08 am

We're glad to welcome back our 85th team from the 2005 main event to the 2006 main event as Kevin LaCour of Sugarland, Texas is returning to Las Vegas for the third straight year. Kevin has signed up for the main event at the Stardust Resort & Casino on Saturday, Sept. 2nd and has added the $650 Auction League on Friday, Sept. 1st. He's been part of the Auction League for the last two years and expects Dyv to bring the beer this year since he finished last in 2005! :D Kevin led his Hurricane Alley team to a 5-8 record in Las Vegas League 1 last year with 1,595.1 points, placing 94th overall, and his Dr Hood and Bomber Auction League team also finished 5-8 with 1,517.8 points. Welcome back Kevin and best of luck this year in the hunt for the $100,000 grand prize, the $5,000 league prize and the $4,000+ in Auction League prizes.

Who's Coming To The 2006 NFFC And Where?

Post by Greg Ambrosius » Thu Jun 22, 2006 5:30 am

The NFFC veterans keep coming back this week as this promotion for the free NFFC hats is going wild! :D Let's give it up for the return of the tag team of Jason Aberli and Charlie Gillespie of Louisville, Kentucky, who are returning to the Oakbrook Marriott in Chicago on Sept. 1-2. Those two wild men were in Las Vegas two years ago, but they've settled into the Chicago love fest for baseball and football the last two years. We miss you guys in Sin City! :D Anyways, Jason and Charlie led their Midway Bolts team to an 8-5 finish in Chicago League 5 last year, placing 169th overall with 1,510.55 points. The Midway Bolts then scored 462.20 points in the Consolation Round to place 112th overall. They also competed in the Chicago Auction League last year, with the Midway Bolts II finishing 5-8 with 1,518.45 points. Jason and Charlie are teaming up for the main event in Chicago and are hoping for a second auction league in Chicago as they are our 16th signup for the auction league in the Windy City. Welcome back guys and best of luck in the hunt for the $100,000 grand prize, the $5,000 league prize and the $4,000+ in auction league prizes.

We're glad to welcome back one of our most successful owners from 2005 as John Bayley of Urbana, Maryland has signed up to compete in the NFFC's main event again at the New York Hilton on Saturday, Sept. 2nd. John won $10,000 last year in the NFFC, but almost won a WHOLE lot more. He led Team Bayley to a second place finish in New York League 2 as he went 8-5 but placed 10th overall in the regular season with 1,791.3 points. Team Bayley then finished third overall in the Championship Round with 594.05 points, just missing out on the $100,000 grand prize. Great job last year John and best of luck this year in the hunt for the $100,000 grand prize and the $5,000 league prize.

We're glad to welcome back John Barkow of Hartland, Wisconsin, who is an original member of the NFFC family. John and his co-manager Barry Kohlhoff have been pictured on the NFFC home page all year as they are the ones wearing the Michael Vick jersey and that dreaded Randy Moss Vikings' jersey! :D They are both returning to the Stardust Resort & Casino in Las Vegas, Sept. 1-2 for the main event and the $650 Auction League. In fact, we now have 13 owners for the $650 Auction League and should fill that one soon, while we're working on our fourth main event league in Sin City. Team Barkow finished 7-6 last year in Las Vegas League 2 of the main event, placing 182nd with 1,488.7 points. Team Barkow also finished 7-6 in the Las Vegas Auction League and was third during the regular season with 1,652.95 points, but finished out of the money when it lost in the first round of the playoffs. Better luck this year guys in the hunt for the $100,000 grand prize, the $5,000 league prize and the $4,000+ in Auction League prizes.

Dale Johnson of Orland Park, Illinois grabbed the 14th spot in the Chicago Draft Champions League, filling up that league faster than ever before. Dale is new to our family of high-stakes events and we welcome him with open arms. Thanks for your trust and support Dale and best of luck in the hunt for the $4,250 first place prize.

We will continue to take signups for the Chicago Draft Champions League and see if we can fill a second league. There are several owners from last year's league who haven't signed up yet and we're already working on a second Auction League in the Windy City, so keep the signups comin'. We'd love to have two leagues of each at the Chicago Oakbrook Marriott on Friday, Sept. 1st.

The hits keep coming today as we're glad to welcome back our 89th team from 2005 to the 2006 event. Let's give it up for the tag team of Erik Newman and Brian Kane of Saint Paul, Minnesota, which will be drafting in the NFFC's main event again on Saturday, Sept. 2nd at the Stardust Resort & Casino in Las Vegas. Erik and Brian led The Dreaded Spoilers to a 5-8 record in Las Vegas League 5 last year, finishing with 1,336.7 points. The Dreaded Spoilers struggled with injuries throughout the year, but Erik and Brian are convinced that a money finish is in their sights this year. Welcome back guys and best of luck in the hunt for the $100,000 grand prize and the $5,000 league prize.
