For alternating draw, the random draw would only be for the team who gets the #1 pick. Then the draft spots would be 1, 4, 5, 8, 9, 12, and 13 for one team and 2, 3, 6, 7, 10, 11, and 14 for the other team. We would fill in the team names and send Greg the draft order. For random draw, Greg would put the team name in each spot and then we could decide the team for each spot and send it back to him. Are there any other 2006 teams in favor of this? I like it. Tamu, sorry to go deeper in to this, but I've had a lot of time on my hands recently, and as I was looking over this method of draft selection, I saw one slight flaw.
If we are awarding the Top overall single winner the most money, it makes it hard for the team to designate who gets the top and bottom slots. Since this is a team effort, it seems as if it would be giving your own teammate a handicap by giving him a high or low draft spot...
Would it be out of the question to just divide all winning money to the winning team to solve this problem? In a team effort, I have no problem giving the top picks to anyone of my teammates. But if One Person is also being awarded for the top overall score, we have to take that into account also.

We are going to stick with random draw on the alternating format just for that reason, Diesel. You're right in that if this was strictly a team event, we could do this, but with there being an individual award, this would not be feasible.

NY vs Chicago Grudge Match Update
Just to throw this out there, it seems many of us at the beginning of last year wanted to only pay 5 places which is why I think we ended up with 5-on-5 vs. 7-on-7. I recommend we vote on this sometime in July when we've had some time to recoup from this year and will be stoked for next year. All of this voting is wearing me out.
As for the voting so far, the tally is in, minus Eddie who may be having computer trouble but we have majority votes on the following:
Draft date: Sept. 12, 8 P.M. Eastern
# of weeks: 15
Draft selection order: alternating
Fee: $100
Individual winner: total points
Team prize: pizza and shirts to be included in the fee since the NY'ers are having trouble finding the post office.
Payout and team winner criteria can wait until July. But I will get this info and the team info to Greg and see if he and Tom can draw the draft spots next week. Is that ok with everyone?

I've spent enough time with emails back and forth to you on all of this stuff, Diesel, that you're like family now. But like you, I'm already stoked for next season. Bring it on!!!

If I can swing it, does everyone want Greg and Tom to pick the draft spots next week? Draft selection order is alternating and depending on how many brews they drink, it should only take Greg and Tom 5 minutes to do.

QUA, word out of Beantown is the Sox are getting Coco Crisp. And we are all waiting for the Manny for Tejada and an outfielder so I would say your problems are near an end. I could be mean and say as an Oriole fan, I like it when Boston has problems, but considering my team has had problems since Earl Weaver was manager, I don't have any room to harass the Beantowners.
