In an attempt to bring this back on topic, I think the solution to the Weeks 12-13 All Play is to move it to Weeks 1-2. This way, you guarantee full participation from the field. It also leaves the possibility of exciting H2H matchups in Weeks 12 and 13.

to summarize:

-Samlawyer had a good idea.
-Ren does not get it.
-Big Mike will cutoff sandwich supplies at future drafts if you speak on his behalf.

I think weeks 12 and 13 could also be like "bumper" weeks in bowling. Basically teams play each other based on standings.... 1st plays 2nd, 3rd plays 4th... etc.

That said, there are no guarantees that the first place team will win even with the current scenario. In my league the first place team is in a heated 76-64 battle this week, he has the 64. There is a great chance he would not beat the top 6 scoring teams this week.

While I'm on it, can someone please explain to me how I manage to play one of the top 2 scoring teams in my league each and every week???? I lead my league by nearly 100 points (before tonight's games), yet I am 5-5. OUCH.

I think the week 1 and 2 as the "play everyone" idea is a good one ! Week 12 and 13 makes it kinda unfair. I am already assuming the top 2 teams will each get W-W in those weeks.

Let's see what happens in Weeks 12 and 13 first under this current format and then make smart decisions at season's end about 2009. Maybe we'll be surprised by the results and then again maybe not.

I've never thought about this myself but this is possibly the best idea so far. With everyone submitting lineups the first two weeks it would keep everything competitive from an all-play standpoint.

K of Q thought is also a good idea. I could go with either of these.
