Interface Suggestions/Improvements

Truthfully, I've had zero problems with the live scoring page. It loads pretty quickly and runs plenty fast with good functionality for me.

I know others have had problems with the live scoring, but I haven't experienced a single problem with it. I run on a PC with Windows 7 and use Firefox as my browser.

It seems to be connected to what "browser" one has. I just did not anticipate having to download new browsers for fantasy football. I haven't had to do it once in the last decade.

I am just hoping to get regular feedback from the guys on what is being worked on. Those who have been a part of the NFFC for years are accustomed to Tom and Greg being very active and interactive with the message board community. Occasional updates with feedback are welcomed.

It is fast and otherwise easy to use. Fantasy Points scored can be found at:
Stats->Free Agents

I just talked to John and we are working to get it on Transactions->Free Agents this week, maybe even today. We are working on that enhancement.

We will add W-L records to each team in the overall standings too. I just asked John for that and he will add that. I think that's always good information too.

We will try to add a column for Draft Position as well, so that we have one area where you can see the top teams and where they drafted from. If we add these two things the overall standings page will be exactly as it was last year.

Yes, IE has caused some problems with NFFC and NFBC software, and yes we are working on a fix that will hopefully be done soon. But the easy solution is what everyone is telling you, that free agent lists and live scoring work very well on Firefox, Safari and Google Chrome, so add one of those if you can take the time to do it. You might even find that Google Chrome is a lot faster for everything you do on your computer.

For the record, I downloaded Firefox and now suddenly I have access to the transations when before it locked up gave me an error message.

In the past no matter what page we were on with the site we could click on a player and in their profile would be their entire schedule. There were little "bars" showing how much they scored each week. This (in my opinion) was a wonderfully useful function where you could look ahead at the matchups a particular player had coming. It also showed bye weeks.

At the very least, in the past when browsing free agents you could see a player or defenses "next opponent" and that was helpful. I was just trying to make a free agent move for someone without computer access and when looking at the defenses I could not see who this weeks opponent was without going to some other page or website.

That, along with the ability to click a drop down bar that allows us to look at our rosters and lineup options for future weeks with matchups included (like we had with STATS in the past) would be great. I know I am not the only one who has asked about that.

Speaking of overall or historical standings. I thought I once saw a list of "overall wins in the NFFC classic" somewhere. It would be cool to have an overall most wins list. Someday down the road someone could be the "Don Shula" or "Joe Paterno" of the NFFC with most wins. Is that list anywhere?

Glenn Glenn, obviously these are NOT the same interfaces. Football is using an existing commissioner model that obviously has to be different from the Rostisserie style of scoring we have in the NFBC. We are adding enhancements to the free agent setup in football now and it will be as good as baseball is now. But these are not interfaces that just get copied and pasted from baseball to football.

Live Scoring is being enhanced too, but it did work well for a lot of people last week. We all know IE is a tougher beast as we found in baseball. And we'll see if we can add some of those enhancements we were able to add to baseball. I'll post any improvements on the boards. Not all will get done immediately, but we'll keep working on them.

Do I read my own boards? What an idiotic question Glenn, even from you. I live on these boards more than you do and answer every email and question possible here and on baseball, while trying to create a new basketball site at the same time. I don't need you to chastise me about not responding to this thread during the middle of the night. I'm taking the suggestions and working with IT on possible solutions. If I don't post immediately for you or others, sorry. Sometimes I'm working on the solution and don't have an answer just yet. But I'm always on here.
