Greg, no need to call me tonight, save the $.25. You have my support.

is there any chance we can do the drafts tonight? I'm getting a little anxious with all the waiting.

I know I've said it a few times on another thread, but I can't tell you how pleased I am with the response to what we announced yesterday. Everyone is supportive of this multi-city concept and the unique 14-team format and nobody is livid at me for creating high expectations out of the gate. We'll get to that level eventually, but we'll have to start out more slowly.

That being said, the seven NFFC signups this morning proved to be that being honest and letting everyone know where we were at helped those sitting on the fence make a decision one way or another. We have several more who called and said they just have to check with a partner, so we're heading in the right direction. We'll get it done.

I think it's KC at St. Louis tonight. I'm going to my favorite sports bar to check it out. Can't wait to check out the sports palace at the Flamingo. If it's anything like the MGM Grand, I'll be in hog heaven between drafts.

Yeah Rick, I think there's some college games that weekend, so check them out. Oh, and wagering is allowed in Las Vegas. Kind of convenient, isn't it???

I don't mean to compare the NFFC with any other high stakes contest, but there are currently five events scheduled over that two weekend period in September and the market is having trouble supporting them all. Just from what I see on the boards, it looks like:

WCOFF - 672 in Las Vegas. Excellent event, great job filling up. $200,000 grand prize.

NFFC - 175+ with stated $200,000 grand prize. We have stated there it could be $100,000 depending on these last week signups.

RotoBowl.com - Shooting for 504 in Connecticut with a stated $100,000 grand prize, but have 160 or so now. They are going forward, but they've said on their message boards that the overall prize structure will have to be altered.

Kahuna Sports - Shooting for 408, pro-rating $100,000 grand prize based on signups. Likely at 6-7 leagues, which would be a $17,000 grand prize. They are going forward.

Payday Sports - Shooting for 600 teams at $3,600 each at Atlantic City with $1 million grand prize. They sent out an e-mail today stating they are now shooting for 60-100 with a $100,000 grand prize.

Several online contests are also coming up short, but there's still time this week and next for those to improve.

I just point this out to show that the market appears to have more supply than demand and those people who run good events and keep their customers happy stand the best chance to return in 2005. We certainly hope to be one of them.

Big game that week in Bayou country.
LSU vs Oregon State.
Glad draft will be done so I can watch my Tigers.
No wagering for me however. Violation of NCAA rules. I can't get the defending National Champs in trouble. They would lynch me in Baton Rouge.

Diesel02, both of you guys talk about losing your partner next year. You guys aren't married or anything like that, are you? You guys seem to get along as well as most husbands and wives! ;)

I wish I could see the two of you together in New York, but I'll warn Tom where the catfights are coming from ahead of time. :D
